Dos and Don'ts of Job Interview
By: Eva VargasVI°H
SHAKE YOUR HAND WATCH YOURSELF Show your enthusiasm by keeping an interested
expression. Nod and make positive gestures in moderation to avoid looking like a bubblehead
If you have more than one person interviewing you at once, make sure you briefly address both people with your gaze and return your attention to the person who has asked you a question
Establish a comfortable amount of personal space between you and the interviewer. Invading personal space could make the interviewer feel uncomfortable and take the focus away from your conversation.
Donts
DON’T GO HEAVY ON THE MAKE-UP.
But too much and too bold…well, some employers will see it as a sign that you are more about looks and surface things than business.
NO GUM, NO CANDY You’re there to speak and listen – without anything
else going on in there. Once again, you want to show you are about the business and not your own comfort or habits
DON’T WEAR PERFUME OR COLOGNE
some people find perfumes or colognes offensive worse yet, some people may be allergic.
