ThemarineenginesfromScaniaarebasedonarobustdesignwithastrengthoptimisedcylinderblockcontainingwetcylinderlinersthatcaneasilybeexchanged.Individualcylinderheadswith4valvespercylinderpromotesrepairabilityandfueleconomy.Theenginesaretypeapprovedinallmajorclassificationsocieties. TheengineisequippedwithaScaniadevelopedEngineManagementSystem,EMS,inordertoensurethecontrolofallaspectsrelatedtoengineperformance.Theinjectionsystemisbasedonelectronicallycontrolledunitinjectorsthatgiveslowexhaustemissionswithgoodfueleconomyandahightorquealreadyatlowrevs.Theenginecanbefittedwithmanyaccessoriessuchasaircleaners,PTOs,transmis-sionsandtypeapprovedinstrumentationinordertosuitavarietyofinstallations.
