COLUMBUSREGIONALAUXILIARY

WewillprocessyourapplicationandcallyouforanappointmenttodiscussyourbecomingamemberoftheColumbusRegionalAuxiliary.Volunteersmustattendatwo-hourorientationworkshoppriortotrainingonaplaceofserviceappointment.Afterorientation,newvolunteersareassignedtoavolunteer“Buddy”ordepartmentsupervisorforspecifictrainingandcompletionofthedepartmentspecificchecklist.Oncethetrainingandchecklistarecomplete,youmayassumeyourvolunteerdutiesonthechosenshiftsyouwillwork.

Educational/trainingrequirements:GeneralOrientation(2hours)Individualservicetraining(3-6hours)

AdultVolunteersareREQUIREDtohaveaPPDSkinTestandcriminalbackgroundcheck.Theexpensesoftheserequirementsarediscussedatinterview.Weaskthatyoucommittoaminimumof100hoursofvolunteerserviceineach12monthperiod.Someservicesareflexibleandcanbearrangedtofityourbusyschedule.Shiftsarebasedona3or4hourblockoftime.Multipleshiftsandserviceplacementsareavailablethroughouttheweek.ShiftsandserviceplacementsarescheduledwiththeDirectorofVolunteerServices.
