BURNING FILES TO BLANK DVD
How to put your pictures on a blank DVD
INSERT A BLANK DVD IN YOUR DVD
WRITE DRIVE (A DVD READ-ONLY DRIVE WILL NOT WORK)
When you insert
the blank DVD,
this window will
appear.Choose the “Burn files
to disc – using
Windows method.
NAME YOUR DISK AND FORMAT IT (MAKE
THE DISC READY TO BURN FILES ONTO IT)
Type the name of the
disc under “Disc
title:” You are limited
in how many
characters you can
use. Then click
“Next.” and
formatting will begin.
FORMATTING PROCESS
The disc might take
some time to format,
based on your
computer and DVD
drive. Be patient. It will
tell you how much time
is left.
YOUR DISC IS READY TO DRAG FILES INTO
THIS WINDOW.
This is the
window for the
disc you
formatted. You
can drag your
picture files into
it to add to the
disc.
OPEN THE MY COMPUTER WINDOW ON YOUR
COMPUTER TO FIND YOUR PICTURES YOU WANT
TO ADD.
The disc you
are going to
burn pictures
on.
My pictures
are on the
“N” Drive, so
I’ll double-
click to open
it and look
for them.
THIS IS THE “N” DRIVE WHERE MY PICTURES
ARE LOCATED. NOW, WE NEED TO SELECT AND
DRAG AND DROP TO THE BLANK DVD.
Click
“Organize”
then choose
“Select all”
from the drop-
down menu
OR use the
mouse and
cover all of the
pictures/folders
you want to
drag onto the
blank DVD.
ONCE YOU “SELECT ALL,” ALL FILES WILL
BE HIGHLIGHTED.
DRAG THE SELECTED FILES TO THE BLANK
DVD WINDOW
Drag
THE “COPYING” WINDOW APPEARS AND SHOWS
THE PROCESS OF MOVING THE FILES ONTO THE
DVD.
It might take some time to
transfer the picture files.
Be patient. It will tell you
how much time you have
left.
YOU SHOULD SEE ALL OF THE FILES YOU
SELECTED IN THE DVD WINDOW.
THEN EJECT THE DISC FROM THE DISK DRIVE –
IT WILL TAKE A MOMENT TO PREPARE. ONCE
THIS PROCESS FINISHES, IT WILL EJECT FROM
THE DRIVE.
This small window appears
in Windows Vista to show
the progress of making the
disc ready for use in all
computers.
