…in Precision Airdrop Implementation;
• Booz Allen assists HQ Air Mobility Command with
requirements management, acquisition program
guidance, and strategy to interface precision
airdrop mission planner hardware and software
with the U.S. Army’s 2,400-pound and 10,000-
pound autonomous guidance systems.
The mission planning system’s airdrop
software uses technology that assimilates data
near the drop zone and computes mission data
to create an accurate air release point. The
result is a capability to airdrop 2,000 pound
guided payload delivery systems from up to
25,000 ft. MSL and place them within 150
meters of a planned impact point.
21
…in Wireless Gate Release System Implementation;
• Booz Allen assists HQ Air Mobility Command in
requirements management and transition strategy for
wireless gate release system (WGRS) to provide exit
time separation for airdropping containerized delivery
systems or JPADS autonomous guided systems.
Sponsored by USTRANSCOM and collaborative RDT&E efforts with US ARMY NRDEC, the WGRS can be used in lieu of the conventional container release system, allowing aircrews maximum flexibility in releasing single or multiple containers from either side of the aircraft, with a user-defined time interval between same-side or opposite side sticks simultaneously.
22
…in Improved Container Delivery System Implementation;
• Booz Allen provides subject matter
expertise to HQ Air Mobility Command
to deliver airdrop software that
leverages precision release
computation technology to airdrop the
Army’s low-cost expendable
containerized systems.
The Consolidated Airdrop Tool software has made it possible to precisely deliver expendable airdrop systems from high altitudes which keep aircraft distant from surface-to-air weaponry, yet directly deliver the combat supplies to the soldier in the battlefield. The low cost, low velocity, system is the Army’s number one option in Afghanistan.
23
Requirements analysis involves airdrop planning subject
matter expertise, facilitation of the semi-annual airdrop
requirements working group, documentation, and
coordination with three separate AF aircraft program offices,
three MAJCOMs, and AF and Army engineers and program
managers. Resource analysis enables the AF to program
funds and plan for multi-year airdrop acquisition programs.
…in Precision Airdrop Acquisition; • Booz Allen assists HQ Air Mobility Command
and Air Force Life Cycle Management Center
with Requirements/Resource Analysis and
Acquisition Planning for AF Joint Precision
Airdrop System-Mission Planner Hardware and
Software.
24
Requirements analysis involves mission planning
system subject matter expertise, identification and
collection of operational requirements for seven aircraft,
documentation, and coordination with seven separate
AF mobility aircraft program offices, and the AF mission
planning system program office. Resource analysis
enables the AF to program funds and plan for multi-year
mission planning system acquisition programs.
…in Aircraft Mission Planning System Acquisition; • Booz Allen assists HQ Air Mobility Command
and Air Force Life Cycle Management Center
with Mobility Air Force Requirements/Resource
Analysis and Acquisition Planning for C-130J,
C-130H, C-17, C-5, KC-135, KC-10, and KC-
46 Mission Planning System Hardware and
Software.
25
…in Security;
• Scott AFB Biometrics Technology Demonstration
—Using biometric hand readers mounted in
weather-proof shelters a more reliable and
easy to use system was designed and
integrated into the installation security
infrastructure to allow pedestrian access
to Scott AFB
—Over 3500 base residents enrolled in the
system and 700 users per week
—Enabled security forces to reduce manpower
by manning gate only during increased
threat levels
—System uses a personal identification number
and human hand to verify identity
