BIDSTRUP FOUNDATION AND BARRETT RESEARCH UNDERGRADUATE FELLOWS GRANT
APPLICATION 2018 – 2019
Through the Bidstrup Foundation and Barrett Research Undergraduate Fellows Program, students and faculty may partner to apply for research funding. Any student with financial need, who is engaging in research or
creative work with a faculty member at ASU, may apply with that faculty person for funding to conduct work
under his or her direction. The program is designed to help students who both want to carry out scholarly work
under the tutelage of a faculty member and are required to earn money to address their financial need (such
need is measured by whether the student is eligible to receive financial aid, which is separate from merit aid).
All funding is for hourly salaried work. None is available for equipment, supplies, or travel.
Award
Student-faculty teams from any discipline may apply for a grant up to $2,000. The award is disbursed to the
student once the hiring process is complete and is paid bi-weekly during the research period.
Eligibility
To be eligible, the application team must include a student in good standing within Barrett and an ASU faculty
person with whom the student will work on research. Selected Fellows must supply a brief project report and
may be asked to publicly present their project/research.
Criteria
Applications should include a cover page (second page of this application which must be signed by faculty and
student) a student resume or CV, and a one-page project description that includes expected number of hours of
work per week, hourly pay rate between $10- 14 per hour and the number of weeks of expected work (that total should not exceed $2000). Application should be sent as one .pdf document. Proposals will be reviewed and awarded on a rolling basis until funds are expended.
