The File Open dialog box allows you to select the User, Project, and Interface, along with a

Design File to work in. The msgeo User is the default Bentley Map User.

The File Menu contains the Map Manager, Open Oracle Spatial, and Import/Export menu items.

The Open Oracle menu item changes names to Map Interoperability for V8i (SELECTseries 3).

File | Import GIS Data Types… and Export GIS Data Types… provide access to ESRI Shapefiles,

GML v2.1.1 data, Oracle (read-only), and MapInfo MID, MIF, and TAB files. This is also the menu

item that provides access to Comma Separated Value or .csv files.

The FME menu item will be

available when there is an active

FME License from Safe Software on

the computer.

The Geospatial menu contains the majority of the Bentley Map application commands. This is

located in the MicroStation Tools menu. For example, the Analyze XFM Feature command is in

the Utilities menu.

Workspace Preferences contains two Bentley Map items – General Preferences and Topology

Preferences.

Design Files initiated through the Bentley Map GeoSpatial Administrator add some special-case

menus to the menu bar – Feature, Plot-Scale, and Command Manager. The Geospatial

Administrator is available in the Windows Start menu.
