Abstract

Ageing population in Australia is a serious issue. This paper is to study the economic impact in ageing population issue in Australia which is to identify the causes, effect of it on various aspects and also the background of the ageing population in Australia. Moreover, this study is to prove that ageing population is getting serious in Australia compared to other well developed countries. In this study the literature review that was summarize and synthesize briefly the article have been reviewed. The study is only focused on Australian have limitation on numbers of sample for determine the exact situation in Australia. Questionnaire is spread to the Australian by friends studying at Australia. The result have been tabulated and analysedBased on the result, 85 percent of respondents were agreed more young people now in Australia. Based on our findings, the cause of ageing population is low fertility rate. 75% of respondents agreed low fertility rate is the main cause of ageing population. 100% of respondents agree the Australian families are having fewer children. The ageing population had effect the economy in Australia. 75 % respondent agreed that Australias GDP obviously fall. 90% of the respondents say that they realize that the Government has to spend a lot for the old ones.85% of respondents as the age population increase, which is the lack of workforce to replace the retired aged people. 60% of them agree while there is 30% of them agree that the ageing population will continue to rise in Australia. Besides that, 55% shows agree and 25 % very agree that that burden on health expenditure will get heavier if the ageing population continues to rise in the future. Based on the information collected and previous surveys, it can be concluded that ageing population is serious issue in Australia. The studys result should be improve, element such as the number of respondents have to be increased, to an extent that as much as possible. The more the respondents, the clearer it is the result and more practical to show the overall behaviour at Australia.
