A visit to Keilor Library
A Social Story developed by Library Staff
Soon, we will visit Keilor Library.
We will walk through the foyer to the library entrance.
There are a lot of things to see and do at the library.
I can read a book or comic.
I can play on a computer,
or play a video game.
I can listen to a story at Storytime,
or do an activity.
The library can be busy sometimes,
and a bit noisy. But that’s ok.
There are quieter areas I can need go to, where it isn’t as noisy.
People use the library to study, read or attend an event,
so I will try to use my ‘indoor’ voice while I’m there.
If I need help I can ask library staff. They are very friendly.
There are toilets I can use if I need to.
They are just through these doors and to the left.
I can use a computer to look for books I want to read. When I find the
books I want, I can ask the librarian to help me borrow them.
I will need my library card to borrow the books I want to take home.
I can use this machine to borrow my books. When I am finished with the books
I have borrowed, I bring them back to the library for other people to read.
I like going to the library, it’s fun.
