• Identify skills that can be built up over time, not just ones with immediate results.

• Consider working on soft skills to supplement more technical skills they may help you tackle problems more efficiently.


• Isolate your key strengths and how they might be transferable to your next role.

• Understand the role you want.

• Use pre-exiting leadership skills to help overcome developmental experiences that may be lacking.
