Zoology All living forms are creation of GOD

Okefenokee“land of trembling earth”

The thick peat soil is not attached to the underlying mineral soil, hence; unstable.

With sudden pressure/movement nearby trees tremble. 412,000 acres of bog contain :

Habitats for humanity

• Wooden swamps: pond cypress, red bay, loblolly bay, red maple, swamp black gum.

• Animals of various kinds live I the swamp area.• e.g. Alligators, Turtles, snakes, frogs,

salamander and fish.• Hawks, Owls, Heron, ducks and song birds.

Natural changes in landscapes.

• Atlantic Ocean covered this part of Georgia, Atlanta.

• Receded and left a shallow lagoon behind a narrow sandbar.

• Bar/crest is known today as trail ridge. • Behind developed the swamp.• Headwaters of the Suwannee and Saint

Mary’s river.

Ammonites

• Shelled Cephalopods, swam the seas of the world from Devonian period until extinction at the end of Cretaceous period.

• Similar to modern chambered Nautilus in appearance.

• Closely related to Squid, Octopus and Cuttlefish.

Is phenotype determined by genotype alone or is it the natural physical-chemical forces that explain the different manifestations of

the same genotype and hence the adaptations to life.

Prehistoric Atlanta

• Dinosaurs 100 million years ago.• Gigantic reptiles roared the earth.• Colossal dinosaurs flourished along exotic

flying reptiles, toothed birds, tiny shrew like mammals and tenacious alligators.

• Survived for millions of years.• Unexplained events led to extinction 64

million years ago.

Climatic conditions during the Prehistoric Atlanta, (dinosaurs period)

• Much warmer as indicated by fossils; tropical plants, palms. Tree-ferns, cycads.

• Farm flat and swampy with flush vegetation growing.• Rivers, gentle flowing, crisscrossed.• Quiet backwaters of swamps.• Water lilies, Cattails, soft aquatic vegetation.• Forest cover for the swamps, along riverbanks and

dried uplands where prehistoric hard-wooded palms and conifers grew.

Thank You

• Children are the future of every nation, rich or poor, and education of children in creative ways that allows for the development of a mind inclined to the natural interests of the child, the freedom to pursue a career of their choice later in life and the building blocks for exploring child’s interest at a young age, goes a long way in making of happy adulthood and a satisfying and contented old age.
