Sinopak MVVFD includes integrated structure and split-type structure based on capacity. The integrated structure is adopted in low capacity MV VFD and the split-type structure is adopted in high capacity MV VFD. In terms of an integrated machine, which is compact in size, phase-transformer, power units, control systems, and power frequency bypass are fully integrated into one cabinet; In terms of a split-type machine, phase-transformer, power units, control systems and power frequency bypass are assembled in separate cabinets in which are combined on the spot.

Sinopak magnetically controlled soft starter consists of the
incoming line, switch, magnetically controlled reactor and
controller. The equipment controls MCR reactance through
changing magnetic permeability of iron core with DC excitation
current, so it is called magnetically controlled soft starter.
The starting capacity is large, and it can achieve starting control
of a 20000KW motor.
Adopting dual-DSP and FPGA as the main control chip, so that
the system has the strongest processing capacity, to ensure the
starting current’s control precision.
The reactor’s high-voltage coil made with one-time vacuum
casting molding technology of epoxy has advanced technology

◆ Improve the stability of power transmission
In long distance transmission system, SVG can not only compensate the power line losses caused by reactive power,
increase line voltage and improve e�ective transmission capacity under normal operation, but also o�er reactive power
adjustment in time, damp system oscillation and improve system stability in case of fault.
◆ Maintain the receiving-end voltage level
Since high capacity load centers lack reactive power support, it is easy to cause grid voltage dip, even cause voltage
collapse. However, SVG is capable of fast var adjustment. Therefore, the receiving-end voltage level is greatly stabilized.
◆ Reactive power compensation leading to high power factor and low line losses
Many types of loads need a mass of reactive power when operation, such as asynchronous motors, arc furnaces, rolling
mills and high rating recti�ers. At the same time, the upstream transformer and line impedance also generate reactive
power, which still leading to low power factor.
For the power system, loads with lower power factor will increase the line losses, voltage drop and deteriorate voltage

Voltage �uctuation and �icker are mainly caused by rapid loads variation. This rapid variation also causes the load current
�uctuation dramatically. The current variation leads to system voltage losses changing very fast, which brings the
receiving-end grid voltage �icker. The typical loads that cause voltage �icker are arc furnaces, rolling mills, electric
locomotives, etc.
SVG can o�er fast reactive power regulation, which mitigate voltage �uctuation and �icker easily caused by loads variation.
◆ Mitigate 3-phase imbalance.
In distribution network, there are a lot of 3-phase unbalance loads, typically like electric locomotives and arc furnaces. At
the same time, line and transformer impedance unbalances can also cause voltage unbalance problem. SVG can fast
compensate negative sequence current caused by unbalance loads, which ensure balanced 3-phase grid current. Thus, it
improves the power supply quality greatly.

Features
Static Var Generator (SVG) is an automatic power factor correction module which works as a current source; it can
compensate the power factor of the grid with the reactive current generated by itself to avoid �ne imposed by power
utility due to a too low power factor. SVG checks the load current through the external CT, and performs computing
through the external DSP to analyze the reactive contents of the load current. After that, it controls the PWM signal
generator based on the settings to send control signals to the internal IGBT. In this way, it generates reactive power current
to implement dynamic reactive power compensation.

SSCT = Smart Controller +SVG modules +TSC modules
SSCT is a smart reactive power compensation device
which uses SVG module to control TSC module; it
perfectly combines the active module (SVG/APF) and
the reactive module via smart control system, achieving
continuous compensation without dead zone. It is an
optimal solution to reactive power compensation and
three-phase imbalance compensation.
