From the PastorDear Parishioners,

Wow! We had one great party in the park last Saturday. So many came to Mass and even more to the festivities, music and food afterward. It was a perfect night. I want to thank everyone who helped put it together. Mike Zak, the Knights and Scouts as well as Donna Fike and the liturgy team did a wonderful job helping make our 170th Anniversary a success. Next year will be even better.

We are in the process of getting ready to renovate the Marian Garden at the Crane Rd. Campus. We’ll open it up so people can see it, make it more accessible, put in more seating and place a new and bigger statue of Our Lady of Grace in the center. We’ll be needing donations, especially for the statue which will be white marble and 6 feet tall in addition to a pedestal and base. If you’re interested in making a donation please call the office. What a fitting way to help the parish as well as to create a memorial for a family member or intention.

They’ll be an upcoming speaker series from your priests. It will be 3 consecutive Wednesday’s, October 20 Downtown (Fr. Jack: Our Lady of the Rosary), October 27 Crane Rd. (Fr. Kladar: Communion of Saints/ Favorite Saints)and November 3 Crane Rd. (Msgr. Deutsch: All Souls and the Four Last Things).

In October we have the Month of Mary and the Rosary. We’ll celebrate with our talks, continue praying the Rosary after the 7 AM weekday Masses, pray the Rosary with the school kids in front of school after one of our upcoming daily Masses. Also the priests will be taking our Jr. High religion classes to Prairie Cemetery on All Souls Day to pray the Rosary and receive the indulgence. We’ve got a trail that goes through the back that goes right to cemetery. It’s only a few minute walk and keeps us on our property.

We’ll be having a server training November 6 and 13th for all interested servers who want come back and start again. The core group of 8th grade and high school boys that have recently been retrained will assist with the training. In the new format boys and girls will serve separately and not be mixed. This adheres to diocesan guidelines. Fr. Kladar and Fr. Jack will be hosting a Core-Server Gathering (high school and 8th grade boys) on a weeknight in October. It’ll be in the gym with a short talk, basketball and pizza. We’ll have the date soon.

My mini sabbatical starts tomorrow and I’ll be gone till October 28. Please pray for me and my travels and hikes. Know I’ll be praying for you.

Peace, Msgr.

Parish Survey

St. Patrick Parish has served the Fox Valley with courage and generosity for over 170 years! From humble beginnings and bold leadership, St. Pat’s grew to support a welcoming community, two campuses, a grade school, a preschool, and many ministries.

As we write the next chapter at St. Pat’s, we want to know how we can continue to serve you and your family.

Help us understand the needs and desires of our parish community. Visit stpatrickparish.org and look under “Announcements” or scan the QR code below on your phone.

EventsCollege Care Packages

A recent Harvard study showed that 3 in 5 young adults are lonely. When members of our parish are away at school, we want them to know that they are still loved. So twice each year we send care packages to them.

St. Francis of Assisi Pet Blessing

Who let the dogs out? Experts disagree, but St. Francis of Assisi is known for, among other things, a profound respect and care for creation. While he probably didnt’ “let the dogs out,” many people today look to his example as they care for their pets. Join us for prayer, toungues, and hopefully a few wagging tales as we ask for a blessing on our pets.

WHEN: Saturday, October 9. 10 AM.

WHERE: Lincoln Park, St. Charles. Meet across from St. Pat’s Downtown.

All pets are welcome.
