Transcript of Your Pathway to Professional Conduct While Using Social Media as a REALTOR
Respect for PROPERTY
ASK FOR PERMISSION BEFORE taking interior photos or recording video of a
home if you are the buyer’s agent.
BE RESPONSIBLE FOR EVERYONE and do not allow buyers to take photos or record video without permission from the listing
agent or the property’s owner.
NEVER CRITICIZE THE PROPERTY on any social media channel as you never know
who might be friends with the listing agent or owner of the property.
NEVER CRITICIZE THE PROPERTY while on
the premises as the owner might be recording you.
Respect for the PUBLIC
IDENTIFY YOUR REALTOR and PROFESSIONAL STATUS while online
PRESENT a PROFESSIONAL APPEARANCE AT ALL TIMES when using social media. Are you paying
attention to your language, comments and likes? It’s not a good idea to like and comment on
nudity or any protected class.
COMMUNICATE CLEARLY as everyone does not understand “I was LMBO, I will TTYL or WTH was
that in the kitchen. IJS! BE AWARE OF AND RESPECTFUL OF CULTURAL
DIFFERENCES as I no longer identify my religious belief or political affiliation as not to offend or
alienate anyone.
BE MINDFUL of your technology usage while in the presence of others.
Respect for Your PEERS
SHOW COURTESY, TRUST AND RESPECT for other real estate professionals and never say anything
negative about others on any social media channel.
DO NOT PROSPECT on or through another real
estate professional LinkedIn, Facebook, or Twitter account.
