There is a very profound lesson from this

week’s Parsha which applies to everyone

and especially to those in positions of

leadership and public servants. In the

Parsha we read about the completion of the

Mishkan and a final detailed accounting of every item collected

is recorded. This precise bookkeeping was necessary because

there were those who grumbled against Moshe – questioning his

integrity. To assuage anyone’s doubts Moshe provided complete

transparency (! ל)-והייתם נקיים מה' ומישרא Human nature never

changes and this is a timeless message for every person.

The Young Israel of Deerfield Ritual Committee

Many YIDB congregants have expressed an interest in learning more about the role and function of the Ritual Committee (RC). It is the

RC’s mission and purpose to provide a setting for discussion of any and all topics relating to ritual, worship practice and religious educa-

tion at YIDB. Any contemplated innovations or changes to current policies and practice are presented to the RC for discussion. Our Rabbi

provides Halachic guidance and is its Posek. Included among the members of the RC are YIDB’s President and the Gaboyim.

The decisions and recommendations of the RC are not final until presented to the YIDB Board for consideration and approval prior to any

implementation. Any YIDB member is welcome to provide input to the RC by contacting: Rabbi Sandy Dresin, Committee Chairman
