Written and illustrated by Chris Boyd
Illustrations were created by pasting graphics found on Google.
This book is dedicated to my little angel Ava Rose. I’ll
love you always and I am so grateful to have you as
my daughter.
On the day you were born I was looking out the window of our little room in the hospital, admiring a
beautiful oak tree. You were just a pea.
He wanted to play with you, but we said “No no Jesse”, because
you were just a pea.
The day we took you home, the dog was so curious.
When you grew a little bigger you started climbing everything. To the top of the couch and on to the dinner table, you climbed all that you could see. You were just a pea.
One day you got up on your two feet, and one foot after the other you walked to us. We were so proud of our little pea.
Then you started to walk and talk, and call us “Mom” and “Dad”. That day was so special, we decided to take you for a drive to the sea. It seems like yesterday you were just a little pea.
One afternoon
I made you
soup. It was
green with
peas.
When I put the bowl down in front of you, you got excited and yelled “Look Mom it’s me !”.
Now your asking questions with every sight you see. A tree, a bird, a brand new word for me to share with you happily. As we drive, as we walk, I love our little talks. Oh my little pea.
Everyday it’s something new. Today you learned the color blue. You grabbed
your crayon and wrote it down, so focused in your sleeping gown.
Your always busy like a bee, but your still our
little pea.
As you grow up you will teach us things too. We’ll laugh and play and read books a hundred times through. You unlock our hearts just like a key, we’ll always love our little pea.
The sound of
you singing so
happy and
free. My how I
love my sweet
little pea.
This morning I heard the sweetest sound in the world. The sound I love to hear most out of my little girl.
After all the climbing, talking, singing, laughing, and all the questions you’ve been asking. You still amaze us everyday. Sometimes we wonder what you’ll be; but no matter what, you’ll always be our little pea.
