Driffield Capital of the Wolds and home to the largest one day agricultural show in the UK. The Canal at River Head is a major landmark in the town, used for leisure boats and sailings.
Pocklington Gateway to the Wolds where several walking and cycle routes converge. Home to Burnby Hall gardens with its extensive collection of hardy water lilies. Close to the town is Pocklington canal, an idyllic rural waterway and wildlife haven.

Jackson’s Wold Garden A three acre garden on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds affording stunning views over the Vale of Pickering. The walled gardens provide a rich tapestry of scent, colour and character.
Wolds Way Lavender This 12 acre site with a Wildlife Sculpture Walk and six acres of Lavender ranging from rich hues of purple to the purest white.
Wharram Percy A deserted medieval village that offers a glimpse into a past life. Ghostly outlines remain along with substantial church ruins and the millpond.
Sledmere House Both a Georgian and Edwardian House features plasterwork, furniture by Chippendale, Hepplewhite, Sheraton and gardens landscaped by Capability Brown.
Castle Howard A magnificent stately home with ornate interiors, breath-taking parkland with lakes, fountains and statues and stunning vistas.
Yorkshire Wolds Railway A heritage railway project with a visitor centre set inside a genuine British Rail MK1 Full Brake coach, while visitors can ride on the locomotive Sir Tatton Sykes.
Eden Camp Experience the sights, sounds and smells of World War II, all set in the buildings and grounds of an original Prisoner of War Camp.
Yorkshire Air Museum Over 60 aircraft and vehicle displays make up this historically accurate RAF Bomber Base which is a living memorial to WWII forces personnel.
WONDERFUL WOLDS WILDLIFEHome to some of Britain’s most iconic wildlife, the Yorkshire Wolds is a natural destination for any wildlife lover.
Flamborough Cliffs As well as the impressive seabird colony, this coastal nature reserve has sandy coves and rock pools to explore.
Kiplingcotes Chalk Pit Nature Reserve A 10 mile rail trail between Beverley and Market Weighton, great for orchids and butterflies in midsummer.
Humber Bridge Country Park Local nature reserve is a haven for people and wildlife set amongst woods, meadows, pond and cliffs with views over the River Humber and towering Humber Bridge.
Living Seas Drop in to find out more about the area’s marine wildlife, enjoy arts and craft activities with the kids or take part in an event.
Millington Woods Millington wood is a 52 acre ancient ash wood set within a Yorkshire Wolds valley. Also a site of special scientific interest.
North Cave Wetlands A 21st century nature reserve offering close up views of breeding avocet and dragonflies during spring and summer, with huge flocks of waders and waterfowl during winter.
RSPB Bempton Cliffs The all-accessible viewing platform overlooks this famous seabird colony that fills the cliffs with over half a million seabirds from April – July.
Tophill Low Nestled in the heart of the countryside, Tophill Low is a haven for otters, water voles, kingfishers and barn owls. Viewing hides and visitor centre offer panoramic views of the lakes.
FOOD AND DRINK At the heart of the region are our farmers providing ingredients and inspiration to chefs across the Wolds so you can enjoy fresh produce in our cosy tea rooms, cafés and fabulous restaurants, whatever the season.
