The Adopt-A-Car Program comes with some benefits, along with

the satisfaction you are helping to preserve history. Each adoption

period is for one year from the time of adoption, and you are given

the opportunity to adopt the same car next year, or you can adopt a

different car.

Program Benefits

• Free unlimited admission to the museum for the adoptive parent(s) during the adoption period.

• Your name will be placed on a sign in front of your car, and it will also appear on our website to give you recognition for participating.

• Your adoption can be in memory of or in honor of someone, or it can be a corporate adoption in your company or corporations name.

• You will also have the satisfaction of knowing you are contributing to preserving the history of your favorite vehicle or vehicles.

Adopt-A-Car at the Swigart Museum

The Adopt-A-Car program is a fantastic way to help support your favorite vehicle at the museum and it is open to anyone

who wants to become an adoptive “parent” of one of the museum’s cars.

The cost to Adopt-A-Car is $100 per year, per vehicle, and you may adopt

as many as you desire. Your $100 goes towards the maintenance and upkeep of your favorite car or cars.

While maintaining the cars can be expensive, especially considering we

have a collection of over 150 cars, your adoption goes a long way in helping

the museum take care of its wonderful collection of antique automobiles.

The William E. Swigart Jr. Automobile Museum is a 501(c)(3) non-profit

organization dedicated to the preservation and education of the history of the

American automobile. The museum relies on the generous support of our members

and friends to preserve our priceless collection of cars and memorabilia.

As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization all donations are tax-deductible in

accordance to IRS regulations.

The remarkable Swigart Museum collections have existed for more than

90 years, beginning as a private passion of the museum’s founder W. Emmert

Swigart. His son, William E. Swigart, Jr. fell under the spell of these wonderful machines and built up the collection to

about 150 cars, of which 30 to 35 are on display at the museum at one time.

By adopting a car you will be helping to maintain the vehicle. Your contribution will help to pay the insurance, make

necessary repairs, and provide preventative maintenance.

You may even decide to nickname “your” car. We know many parents who have nicknamed their car(s) Vicky, Matilda, Cordelia etc. This will be your special name between you and your car(s).

We hope that by having a connection with a car or cars that you will feel like part of the Swigart Museum family. Our museum is the oldest automobile museum in the

country and one of the best in the nation.

By participating in the Adopt-A-Car Program you will help to make the Swigart

Museum even better.
