My favorite professor/class at WhartonSmetters!! Having him during the bootcamp week really helps to under-stand how it is being in The Wharton School. He really pushes you to give a little bit more, and you can realize from the very first moment that it is going to be a hard but wonderful two years ride.

This is how I will remember my two years at WhartonI must thank my wife, friends and family, for supporting my time at school, be supportive and reasonable when I have to say no to certain plans. But also, I have to thank all the people on my learning teams, and specially my dc team, as they have made this experience much enjoyable.

My best memory of these past two yearsI’ve definitely had a blast! There are so many memories... the train rides back from school would definitely being on top, as well as the junior prom, the halloween parties, and the global trip.

My advise for future WEMBADo an effort to get to know a little bit better each one of your classmates. They are awesome.

My favorite professor/class at WhartonNegotiations, with Maurice Schweitzer, which I find to be even more use-ful than learning how to do discounted cash flows (oh, the heresy!).

This is how I will remember my two years at WhartonBefore I started the program, I expected everyone to be extremely accomplished, and interesting, and hyper-competitive. I *have* been blown away by how amazing my classmates are, but I have been even more blown away by how kind, generous, and thoughtful everyone is. (‘Kay, enough of the violins.)

My best memory of these past two yearsThe South Africa trip, aka, the best international trip. The best!

My advise for future WEMBAIn the words of the late, great Douglas Adams, “Don’t panic.” No matter how busy you are, take the time to practice kindness - to yourself as well as to others. Also, don’t accidentally take a 4-function calculator to an Advanced Corporate Finance final exam (not that I would know from personal experience, or anything <whistles>).

My favorite professor/class at WhartonMike Useem, a mentor who was instrumental in my decision to go to Wharton. Bulent Gultekin, a true professor who not only teaches class material but valuable life experiences. Ziv Katalan, a powerful stream who encouraged us to look beyond the obvious.

This is how I will remember my two years at WhartonI wil remeber my time at Wharton as a gift. I feel extremely fortunate for the opportunity of spending 2 years studying in an exciting and challenging program, with top-notch professors, and more importantly, with a group of exeptional colleagues and friends. I want to thank the WEMBA team, especially Cathy M., Diane H. and Dawn G., my great learning team Despegar Capital (James, Kent, Prabhav and Raynelle), the exeptional BPC team Smart Pregnancy (Patrick B, Mario, Mayank, and Patrick’s brother Jim), and so many other classmates. I also want to thank my former co-worker at the Embassy Roberto Matus, our adopted family in DC Nena and Dietrich, my mom and dad, my mother in-law, and especially my amazing wife Cote, for all her constant support and encouragement, and our lovely kids María and Diego.

This is how I will remember my two years at WhartonOne of the toughest and most rewarding two years of my life. None of it would have been possible without the unconditional support of my loving husband, parents and family. The experience would not have been the same without the amazing WEMBA staff, miss Diane Harvey, and the lively group of WEMBA 39s.

My best memory of these past two yearsRemoving the Penn logo sticker from the toilet paper roll on the first day of school. Just kidding!! So many great moments but what I will miss the most will be seeing everyone on Friday mornings and catching up.

My advise for future WEMBAYou don’t need to aim for perfection at the expense of forming relationships with your classmates.

It doesn’t have to be something that “scares” you but do something differently or that challenges you. It can be as simple as taking a new route home from work, finally asking the girl out, taking a trip across the world or overcoming your biggest fear. You’d be amazed how quickly you can overcome the fear of failure and accomplish almost anything.

My favorite professor/class at WhartonHard to select only one. I enjoyed the classes that involved team cases/projects over those that were more individually focused. It was great seeing how classmates viewed and solved problems different than me

This is how I will remember my two years at WhartonMy amazing classmates. I was humbled the first day we went around the room and introduced ourselves and I continue to be impressed when I see the ongoing accomplishments of the class. I am honored to have been around so many talented people and learn from their experience. The people make this pro-gram a once in a lifetime experience.

My best memory of these past two yearsWay too many to name- GMCs, WINdonesia, Kelley’s house, Dodgeball, Thursday night crew, Quaker dinner, 5:19, Team 11 (Twice as good as one). It’s truly been an amazing journey and I think the best is still yet to come.

My advise for future WEMBAReach Out- Before the program starts, reach out to alumni and future classmates to learn about their ex-perience. Learn how you will manage the demands of the program across all aspects of your life (family, social, personal, work).Take the Time- Take the time to get to know each and every one of your classmates. It will take your expe-rience from good to unforgettable.Take the Call- As an alumni, take the call from other alumni and current students. Help others out, like those that helped you.

My favorite professor/class at WhartonProf. Nichols Ethics course -- took as a waiver from accounting first se-mester with Gopal, Ays, CJ, Govind, and Kelley. Just the six of us, Prof. Nichols and Hal sitting around a table. Such a unique and interesting way to kick off a great two years.

This is how I will remember my two years at WhartonBig thank you to Diane Harvey, Kelley McKee, and every single WEMBA for making these two years so unbelievably worthwhile. You are all so smart, generous, and fun. From day one I was honored and ex-cited to be a part of this community.

My favorite professor/class at WhartonSo many great classes but will have to pick Economics with Smetters. It was such an impressionable time for us as a class and he really made it a harsh and fun welcoming to WEMBA. Learned and laughed a ton. The midterm crushed us and helped us all bond as a class. “It’s not about you, it’s about me.”

This is how I will remember my two years at WhartonThis truly has been one of the most incredible experiences of my life. I’ve had to the chance to learn and grow from 115 remarkable people. I honestly cannot wait to see where we will all end up. As Nate Jenkins said at the Quaker Dinner, let’s all make a strong effort to stay in touch. Team 19, TBL: Dan, Shawn, Matt, Pete, & Neeta. What an awesome learning team. You all really made this program special. Always hav-ing each other’s back and having a blast along the way. I loved the long tangents we would get into during our meetings and the fun we would all have during class or out afterwards. The worst part of the second year was not seeing you all as often. We MUST keep our meetings moving forward. I’m very lucky to have become true friends with such a talented, fun, and impressive group. Next, Kelley McKee. I wish I could write a whole entry for you. You have been amazing these past two years. Your efforts have single hand-edly brought this class closer and made for an INCREDIBLE journey. Is it time for our first reunion yet?

My best memory of these past two yearsI enjoyed the many karaoke nights, Halloween Parties, drinks at the 5th floor SCC bar and Inn at Penn lounge and the Quaker Dinner.. But one memory that sticks in my mind is dancing the Carlton Dance to the Thong Song at 4:00am in the Rio de Janeiro beach condo with Kelley McKee, Adam Doubly, Ven Raju, Josh Kanter, and Avi Jutagir. I remember thinking how completely ridiculous it was and how these people are all going to be extraordinarily successful in life and can still have a great time.

My advise for future WEMBAEnjoy every minute; it goes by quickly. Meet your classmates early and get to know everyone. Participate in as many activities outside of class as you can. (GMCs, class outings, and trips). You’ll soon realize that the WEMBA culture is one you’ll want to be part of for a lifetime.

This is how I will remember my two years at WhartonI hope to thank every single professor, and every single classmate. This experience was so powerful for me. I felt totally energized and inspired, and really looked forward to the WEMBA weekends. I view the world differently now, as well as my place in it. My only regret is that I didnt have more time to get to know more you - the class - better. My best memory of these past two yearsI will absolutely miss everything about Wharton: learning new things, and spending time with such won-derful people. My favorite memories are the little things - catching up with classmates in between or after classes (I wish there was space for me to name all of you that I really loved getting to know), sharing meals, and discussing life or conjuring up new business ideas with so many good friends (Jeff, Jordan, Bryan, Niranjan, Inga, Mayank, Mario, CJ, James, Salima, Patrick, Nico, and others..). I adored the South Africa trip, which included one of the most amazing days of my entire life with Jeremy and Peter. Mostly, my best memories are getting home on the train on Saturdays to see Kelan, Gabrielle, Jameson, and my ridiculously incredible zen master wife, Sue.

My advise for future WEMBAAs much as you can, only pursue things that are both meaningful and fun.

This is how I will remember my two years at WhartonI want to thank all my classmates for all the great times, the tough times, and the confusing times. I would also like to thank Tracy, for her love and support and holding things together at home, and Thomas, Anna and Malory for hanging in there and being such fantastic children.

Drinking 6 cups of coffee a day, getting out of the parking garage with 1 ticket, martini(s) on the 5th floor, emails from Kelly, finding something in Canvas, meeting study group at the shooting range, getting yelled at by Peiying because we were behind on a project.....

Memorable quote or some words to live by“Honor the room” really stuck with me - though I’ve come to think of the interpretation a little differently than Useem probably intended. To me, that quote is about two things: first, humility; second, gratitude for those with whom you get to spend your time. I can’t think of a better way to remember WEMBA.

My favorite professor/class at WhartonSigglekow’s class was my “welcome to WEMBA” moment. The lectures were equal parts brilliant and practical, and never have I seen a room full of such brilliant people so abjectly terrified of being cold-called. Sonia’s class was great for different reasons - she taught us to think and speak about strategy in a way that isn’t fluffy and trite. Also, there was way more profanity and potty humor than I expected, which was awesome.

This is how I will remember my two years at WhartonSpecial thanks go out to my wife and family for not divorcing/disowning me during two years of frantic activity that is WEMBA. Next would be my fantastic learning team - Shawn, Drew, Dan, Pete, and Neeta. Couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to have in the trenches at 2am when we’re trying to figure out how to sell toothbrushes in rural India. And thanks to the administration and everyone in the WEMBA office for running a program that is the class of the world (and world class)!

My best memory of these past two yearsThe Yawn Heard Round the World, on something like day 3 of WEMBA. That was the moment, for me at least, when I realized we didn’t have to take this whole thing so seriously. And, it was incredible to see Smetters so rattled after that...he just didn’t know how to respond and that was wonderful.

My advise for future WEMBAStay in touch, y’all. Most people don’t get the chance to go back to college, and even fewer get to make 115+ lifelong friends all at once.

(It should be noted that almost two years later, Drew Brown provided what amounted to a sharp rebuke to these words by counseling us in his ode to WEMBA to “buy more planes”.)

My favorite professor/class at WhartonClass - Negotiations - I watched movies from the 1970s and learned something / Professor - Almost all of them

This is how I will remember my two years at WhartonToo many people to thank individually - I could think of a reason to thank everyone. Kelley, of course, deserves special mention for the incredible effort she put forth to make our arduous journey as fun and sociable as possible. And Diane, who made our arduous journey as simple and effortless as possible. I’d like to thank the entire class as whole. Such a wonderful group of people to share this experience with.

My best memory of these past two yearsHalloween Party 1. Limo Ride to NYC with pizza and beer. 4:19 train rides to NYC with 90 minute Dogfish. Getting to know everyone in the program. Skipping class in Capetown to hike up Table Mountain (we still made some of the class) - (kudos to Shika). Avoiding making eye contact with Sigglekow when I didn’t do the readings. Saturday afternoons in Macro.

My advise for future WEMBAYou’ve succeeded by being part of the program. Your two years here will be figuring out how to get the most out of your time. Learning that will be as valuable as any course you take. Partake in as much extra-curricular activities as you can with your classmates.

My alternate dream professionWhen I was five years old I apparently stated that my dream job was “motorcycle man”, even though many people pointed out that it wasn’t actually a job. I have yet to achieve this goal in my life. But in all seriousness, I want to continue to do something that helps people and enables others to achieve their dreams. I started a small business in WEMBA that donates to nonprofits and charities with every sale we make but I am still working on the other part.

Memorable quote or some words to live by“if you wait until the last minute, it will only take a minute”“hard work never killed anyone, but why take a chance?”

My favorite professor/class at WhartonOn the east coast, my favorite class so far was Professor Ulrich’s product design and development class. We created a ridiculous prototype for an iPhone case that had a laser pointer, a miniature selfie stick, and a working charger, and that class set up a side project (and an independent study with Prof. Ulrich) where I’ve been working with Ilya to create a better designed selfie stick. Anyone who was in that class knows that the pitches themselves were absurd too - Drew came up with a bunch of “jingles”, someone made a trash can spear, my team talked about the goonies even though it was totally irrelevant, etc. There were some serious ideas in there but I guess what I’m saying is, Professor Ulrich hands out As for selfie sticks!

This is how I will remember my two years at Wharton I wasn’t on the east coast for very long (just these last two terms) but it’s been a great experience to meet and make a lot of new friends and connections, so wanted to thank everyone I’ve gotten a chance to know better - the best is yet to come. Overall, I’ll remember WEMBA West and East (and Wharton) as a place where I learned a lot, made many lifelong friends and had the chance to reconnect with old ones (Melissa Radic was in the same summer camp as I was when I was 16, and this is the second graduation I have with Terrence Driscoll, who went to high school with me).

My best memory of these past two yearsI have too many to choose but a few of the more absurd really stick out: going out on the Brazil GMC to Rio Scenarium (a dance club) after getting ripped on Cachaca and caipirinhas with some of the crazier people from WEMBA West and a bunch of full timers and getting stopped by the federal police on the way back and ending up barely making it home; chasing Lions and lion cubs into the night on safari in South Africa; idiotic dancing to 80s tunes in an Irish pub in the middle of Cape Town with mixed Easties and Westies and stumbling back afterward.

My advise for future WEMBATry to spend some time on both coasts if you can swing it - you’ll get more out of the program and it’s a lot of fun. Even though WEMBA and the schoolwork can be kind of a grind at times just remember it’s the people that make it awesome so try to hang out as much as you can before it ends.

I started a new job 2.5 months before Wharton and was asked to leave the program 2.5 months after. I declined. My Mother undercame pancreatic cancer that November and moved into my house that December. Over the next 15 months, I lost my job, my Mother underwent massive Whipple surgery and then underwent 6.5 months of chemotherapy. I took her for 3 hours chemo on Thursdays before flying to Philly. I got a new job, taking a big step down in order to care for my Mother, get through Wharton, and complete my degree. This February marked my Mother’s 81st birthday and while still tenuous, she is in remission. I am so grateful she has made it this far with minimal pain considering the severity of pancreatic cancer. I often wondered how my classmates might judge me for not showing up to some Friday night events, or for being somewhat reserved and less social on weekends when unbeknownst to them, I was just exhausted from it all. Instead I was met with open arms by so many of you who provided me the emotional support I needed to get through the past 1.5 years. I am grateful and blessed to have made some of the best friends of my life in this program. The experience has been so very different than what I imagined and the returns far, far greater. Thank you to all of you who lent an ear, who pushed me along when I thought I wouldn’t make it, who offered their help, who supported me throughout this program and who made me laugh despite the very trying time I was facing in my life. Weekends at Wharton became my therapy. I will look back on my Wharton experience with great fondness and will sorely miss seeing all of you in Philly on the weekends. I feel truly humbled and privileged to have gotten to know all of you and to have made some cherished lifelong friends. My best memory of these past two yearsThere are a lot: Halloween parties, I can’tt believe I finally dressed up for Halloween. Karaoke, revisiting the nineties. Best memories though are the international trips. Getting to know people from this program on a deeper level was amazing. Experiences that were not always perfect, but even in their imperfections, were special and worthwhile. Without exception, every person I met in this program had so many layers, a lot more than meets the eye.

It is a challenge to ef-fectively teach an intimidating topic like statistics but Waterman did so with ease.

This is how I will remember my two years at WhartonI’ll remember my WEMBA experience as a time where I forged brilliant relationships that I did not expect to make nor realize I needed so much. Without my wonderful, intelligent, and beautiful classmates this trying time would have been a slog instead of a inspirational and fun journey.

My best memory of these past two yearsAfter a long third term class day, I joined a few WEMBAs at the 5th floor SCC bar to play a game of Ta-boo. Since we are a competitive bunch, it meant making loud animal noises and lots of jumping around trying to describe the weirdest words. In the middle of it all, I realized that we are 30-somethings acting like kids; 30-somethings who are in all likelihood going to be CEOs and top executives soon (or already were). But, in that moment none of us cared. It was about of being there with your friends and unwinding from a long day. It was quintessential (albeit less fancy) WEMBA experience.

My favorite professor/class at WhartonManaging the established enterprise, as taught by Professors Siggelkow, MacDuffie, and Marciano, was eye opener on a number of fronts. First, we learned about basic concepts from the efficient frontier to strategic moats, and these were consistently built upon throughout the rest of the program. The teachers were engaging, but more importantly, in this course we got to experience our teams for the first time in order to start building long-lasting relationships.

This is how I will remember my two years at WhartonThe time at Wharton has been life changing. The friends made during this program have provided tremendous support over the last couple years. When the position of COO was opening in my company, and I lacked the confidence to go for the job, my team members pushed me _ weekend after weekend _ to go for it. I would nev-er have sought the position without the support of the team, but they helped me gain the courage. I put my name in the hat and was able to get the position. Then the same thing happened again when it came to salary negotia-tions. Then again my team pushed me when it came to moving the company forward towards growth through outside financing and private equity. Here other classmates opened up their networks to help my company pave a path for the future. The support network developed at WEMBA has been instrumental to my career over these past few years, and I can only imagine the impact this experience will have over the course of each of our lives. The point is that our classmates challenge and push us to do more. Rarely do we surround ourselves with such an extraordinary and supportive group, but WEMBA is exactly that. Our classmates are awesome. We want each other to succeed beyond our wildest dreams. We brag about each other to our family and classmates. We are extraordinary in every sense of the word. At the end of the day, my kids have asked me why I go to school, and I tell them about my classmates. I am proud to be part of this group, and I am proud of what each of us accomplishes individually and as a group. I am proud to bring my kids to the school and showing them around, because a parent can only hope to have their children belong to a group as excellent as WEMBA.

My best memory of these past two yearsThere isn’t one memory that stands out, but several. My favorite times in the program have been sitting at the Inn at Penn lounge having a drink with friends, meeting at Legal Sea Foods at the airport at the end of each weekend, and going to dinner with classmates on a Friday night. Those that know me know that I like smaller group gatherings, and there were plenty of these, and each was excellent.

My advise for future WEMBAThe best advice I could give is to take it all in. There are excellent classes, students, and teachers. Each of these can provide that little bit of insight that will make the difference.

My favorite professor/class at WhartonMy favorite class was Negotiations with Peter Cappelli. I was totally taken in surprise by tough negotiators in every single exercise, although I had some advantage of people not being too tough on a pregnant woman. I also realized, no matter how many times we were taught game theory, we will still cheat in the first round. We are very good time managers. When we negotiated a complex deal with too many parties, everyone has talked and no one listened for first 10 minutes, and then we found a deal in last 5 minutes. Expert Advice - Your winning chances in a tough negotiation will be greatly increased if you can have Mayank negotiate for you. I was really impressed by Monisha’s leadership skills in bringing all of us easy going people to a consensus in getting 25 page paper eliminated from deliverables.

This is how I will remember my two years at WhartonI would like to thank all my classmates for making my two years in school the greatest years of my life. Our bond started to develop in the intense boot camp, became stronger after first Micro mid-term, kept growing in many brutal weekends, reaching the peak in our Last Lecture with Smetters. It was a wonder-ful experience to be with my learning team. I still remember last August, Warren walked me to my car so he could help me in putting my suitcase in my car. I was so touched by his kindness. Thanks Salima for sending us an excel summary of assignments and readings. I rarely referred canvas after that. Thanks to my Secret Santa for safe baby handling tips book. I could have made one of those mistakes for sure. I have no words to thanks Kelley how amazing and helpful you have always been and made our tough weekends so much fun.

We played beer pong, Paul and Jackie had a drink for me every single time I lost or won. He brought so much energy to the classroom. / At the same time, a class experience that really stood out for me was my small class for Ethics & Risk and Crisis Management with Megan, CJ, Gopal, Ays and Govind. A different learning environment with a great group of people.

My alternate dream professionA writer. I write short stories pretty much every year in December (govind-mika.blogspot.com). Maybe now that I have my weekends back I can get working on that book.

My favorite professor/class at WhartonLots of great classes including Prof. Roberts (Corp. Val.) because he easi-ly has the best teaching style and Prof. Schweitzer (Negotiations) because of the great camaraderie we all shared being a small class. If I had to pick one, it would be my first class at Wharton ever - and the smallest class ever - Ethics. Not because of the subject matter but because there were only 6 of us and the friendships I made in that class with Kelley, Gopal, CJ, Megan, and Ays laid the foundation for a great 2 years and an expec-tation that everyone I would interact with would be equally awesome.

This is how I will remember my two years at WhartonI will remember my time here mostly for the friendships made. Being a recovering introvert, I tried to get out of my shell quite a bit more than I am usually comfortable doing and therefore, I am happy that this brought me some great new friends. I had an utterly amazing learning team and I will cherish having them as great friends for years to come. WEMBA also takes selflessness to the extreme. Christine Johnson, Su Pinto, and Matt Daugherty would repeatedly email me asking if I wanted case interview practice (they already had con-sulting jobs). Adam Douberly, Matt Benchener, Hob Brooks, and Kelley McKee have all helped in my career search too - all for nothing in return from me. There are many more individuals who have truly touched me here - too many to list - but I will be sure to stay in touch and give back.

My best memory of these past two yearsMy best memory has to be in total leadership class, where we were all supposed to make time for ourselves despite the various challenges (work, school, family, etc.). I had a revelation in class. Despite my struggles, so many others had even tougher challenges but were somehow pulling it together. I am already a very driven person but the class made me vow to push myself even more and appreciate the good things in life. I especially remember listening to Niranjan’s story and marveling at how he always had a smile on his face - the mark of a great man. The class was either hated or loved but put me in the ‘loved’ camp because it made me a better, more appreciative person.

My advise for future WEMBATake it all in and appreciate every moment, good or bad. Because before you know it, your WEMBA life is done and you will be left wondering if you didnêt accept all your opportunities to network, bond, and cre-ate new friendships. I believe I know most of my classmates but I wish I knew some others a little better. The good thing is we all have long lives ahead of us and I will make it a point to keep in touch and seek out people I didn’t get the chance to spend much time with.

My favorite professor/class at WhartonProf. John Percival. In his words, “finance is sexy eeaahh” and even more memorable now thanks to him. Prof. Percival was so dynamic and entertaining. We were truly lucky to be the last class he officially taught before retiring.

This is how I will remember my two years at WhartonI will remember these last two years as wildly unreal. Thanks to Nate and Prabhav, I had a very fun and friendly first train ride up from DC to Philly. If we knew more about what we had ahead of us in terms of non-stop school deliverables (on top of work and family), I think we would have turned back around. Thankfully, we soon discovered that the joy of sharing this academically rigorous experience with such a fun, talented, and well-rounded group of classmates would more than offset any pain in the next two years. I remember having our first heart to heart session with the best study group anyone could ask for in room 231 of SCC: thanks members of NLTLB (Tiffany, Van, Mayank and Patrick D.) for always being there for each other and making my learning experience so much more fulfilling and enjoyable. Every other week I tried to get to know more of our classmates and WOW... Thanks WEMBA admissions staff for putting together what I truly and unbiasedly think is the best class Wharton ever graduated. Thanks to my wife for her unconditional love and support and my family and friends for understanding my lack of response and presence during this wild ride...

My best memory of these past two yearsToo many to choose only one...but the international trip to Spain is up there. Going out on Fridays was the highlight of every weekend.

My advise for future WEMBAFind someone half as good as Kelley McKee in your class to make your experience significantly more en-joyable and rewarding. Roberts for making valuation fun. Diamond for changing how I negotiate and deal with people. Patti for opening up my eyes to how marketing really works. MKTG 611 was probably my favorite class because I learned some-thing new every day. Also props to PW for being our advisor for the ISP.

This is how I will remember my two years at WhartonI feel that the entire WEMBA 39 class influenced me in some way. I’d like to thank all my classmates and professors and administrators for this positive experience. In business, there aren’t many collaborative experiences I’ve been a part of that can compare to WEMBA. Every weekend that I came to Philly I felt an enormous energy to get things done and work with impressive people. I plan on keeping in touch with many of my WEMBA classmates and I offer to be a future resource to all of them. My kids, David, Luke, Nadia and Eva have all been very supportive and they loved the family events and their Wharton teddy bears. My wife Nicole’s been a hero over the past 2 years, keeping us afloat while working nearly full-time herself as a pediatrician. I also have to mention my mother for being an enormous help with watching the kids on almost every WEMBA weekend. I don’t have any hobbies any more, WEMBA drove them out of me. I hope to get back to golfing and reading for pleasure someday.

My best memory of these past two yearsSo many good memories. I especially enjoyed doing things that I normally wouldn’t do so I could hangout with the WEMBA crew. These included things like my first Holi, trips to Voyeur (different cuz I don’t usu-ally go to gay clubs), the American Legion. Probably my favorite memory was the times on the WEMBA Indo Tennis court at the Four Seasons in Jakarta. You learn a lot about people when you compete head to head with them and we had great times melting together on the courts in Indo.

My advise for future WEMBAEnjoy every minute. WEMBA’s intense but it goes really fast. And you will get the most out of the times when you are not in class. So don’t study on the WEMBA weekends unless forced.

This is how I will remember my two years at WhartonI probably won’t remember of the professors, classes, or content, as much as the late night group proj-ects at Braskem, the 5th floor bar, ice-skating, DO getting deported multiple times, sitting on the top of the boat to Gili for too long and everyone getting sea sick, seeing Kelly’s face when we unveiled her portrait, laughing so hard at CAH that it hurt the next day, the collective snickers during class when Stortz sends yet another dick pic around, Marc ordering a beer at McDonalds, the Saturday morning after BarCade and Frankford Hall, Favilla lunging or roundhouse kicking construction cones, all of those booze-fueled jam sessions with Miriam planning the Quaker Dinner and laughing too hard at our own jokes, or Een just doing his own thing in the corner. I want to thank Youse Guyz - AKA Group 16 AKA the group that set out to rock WEMBA from Week 1 and succeeded AKA Christine, Kelley, Favilla, Een, and Bjax. I feel so incredibly fortunate to have been assigned such an incredible ensemble of men and women from different backgrounds, walks of life, professions, generations, who pushed me to be the WEMBA I am today. It is almost too good to be true that most of us get to be neighbors after WEMBA and run into each other at the local coffee shops or bars (which is more likely?). I’ve never grown so close to anyone in so short a time and I have high hopes for our future together as we each take the next steps in our personal and profes-sional lives. I also want to thank the people who always made the effort to drop the books and come out for a drink, an adventure, a brunch, or a nap - you know who you are. For me, WEMBA wasn’t as much about hitting the books; it was about learning that there are 115 people out there who are amazing and smarter and more accomplished than you but still want to hang with you, take you along for an adventure, and help you achieve your highest potential. It was the perfect baptism by fire!

Lessons learned include:(1) Never negotiate with Marc Fritze for a used car.(2) They call it the prisoner’s dilemma for good reason.(3) Try to put a rock in that door by the MBA-lounge so your whole class doesn’t get locked outside

My best memory of these past two yearsThis experience would not have been the same without WEMBA’s great-est learning team. Thanks Brad, Garima, Jackie, Paul, and Vic! We wandered through Athenahealth and Tesla, from PRISM stats to UIDLI. I’m still laughing about our many late nights filled with half-finished board games, ingenious startups, and Paul’s rants. Oh yeah, and the rest of you WEMBA-folks are fairly memorable as well.

My advise for future WEMBAThe stairs by 351/451/551 are the only way to get downstairs in the SCC without winding up in some freaky laundry area. Also, Diane Harvey is clearly the best. Also, there is such a thing as too much coffee on a WEMBA weekend. Also, avoid the museums in Jakarta.

My favorite professor/class at WhartonChristian Terweich’s Operations class was my favorite. I really enjoyed the intro examples (circuits, m&m’s etc.) and he had a great sense of humor. I learned a lot in that class. It was also really cool be-cause he was one of the most well known professors at the school.

This is how I will remember my two years at WhartonI’ll remember getting to know a great group of classmates that were collaborative and supportive and not the least bit competitive. I think that part of the experience was amazing. Obviously thanking Diane Har-vey is a given. Not sure how any MBA students can survive without her.

My best memory of these past two yearsSpain was an amazing time. Getting to hang out with a whole new group of people while exploring Barce-lona and Madrid was something I’ll always remember. I think I’ll be a lifelong Gin and Tonic drinker now.

My advise for future WEMBAGetting in is the toughest part. Once you’re there focus on the people and activities. The classes are great but don’t prioritize making straight A’s over getting to enjoy the rest of the experience.

My favorite professor/class at WhartonEcon with Smetters was terrific, if terrifying / Stats and Statistical Modeling with Waterman were both inspiring / Ziv’s OPIM was incomprehensible, but maybe that was just Ziv / ICF (Int’l Corp Finance) with Bodnar was lots of work, but awesome / MGMT 613 with Sigglekow, MacDuffie and Sonia was a great intro to B-school / Christian’s OPIM course was pretty interesting / Of course, South Africa was simply amazing, but that might have just been South Africa

This is how I will remember my two years at WhartonFirst and foremost, my wife; for keeping our family intact, during my prolonged absence. To Andrew and Gwen for putting up with a dad who didn’t seem to be around as much as he ought to have been. As Kent Gryskiewicz termed it at the Quaker Dinner, the bi-weekly “WEMBA roller coaster”, that started to crest as you stashed your work bag on Thursday night, and shifted attention to WEMBA: finish any last assign-ments, then just strap in for a wild 30+ hours from 9am Friday until 4pm Saturday...

My best memory of these past two yearsToo many to count: (1) Running on fumes throughout Bootcamp. (2) Finishing late night Marketing case presentations in SCC study rooms, then meeting for drinks on 5th floor. (3) Dancing with fellow WEMBA’s and South Africans at a bumping night club in Cape Town. (4) Fresh berries!!! “Almost worth the price of admission!”. (5) Bitching about Stew’s 9pm submission deadlines for Total Leadership. (6) Pulling leg hairs, trying to stay awake during Saturday 1pm classes.

My advise for future WEMBA(1) Get your work done prior to Friday, so you can get beers with your classmates! (2) Try hard to have a Salima in your class to help organize your deliverables (3) Try hard to have an LKK in your class to get the most social bonding possible

Salima, your course schedules rocked!! Those who paid for all my beer (and the single malt, you know who you are), cab rides, food etc whenever I didn’t, thanks!!! Profs who kept the academic integrity, gave the best lectures possible and still made it interesting.One of my buddies had told me that the strongest relationship he developed was post-WEMBA. Whether we interacted in length, or our relationship was limited to frequent Hello nods walking back from Wemba office to Huntsman hall (I doubt anybody falls in this category), let’s find opportunity to know about each other more. - you know who to contact ([email protected]). My best memory of these past two years(1) Dodgeball!! Truly surprised by the level of athleticism and drive to win. Great teamwork and awesome dance (Miriam & company). (2) First day train ride with Mario and Nate. Then being joined by Manuel, Bri-an, Caro and Ashby. The enthusiasm, the expectations. (3) Spain trip. Real Madrid v Atletico @ Bernabeu, great company with Manuel and the gang. Vineyard trip with the class followed by cell-phone cab chase with Angela and Michael. (4) London trip, hunt for the oldest pub with Nicolas (B_r), Fratello-Gabrielo and Bobby. (5) Train trips back with the awesome DC gang. (6) Working with my learning teammates amazing hermano Nico , mickey-blue-eyes Kent, super Nelly and the genius Merwald III. My favorite class was Corporate Valuation because it pulled together the previous finance courses in a very practical way, and Michael Roberts was a great professor as well.

This is how I will remember my two years at WhartonI’ll remember my time as being about constant learning. It was really non-stop learning among incredible friends. I’ll also remember traveling the world with all you great folks - India, Indonesia, and the United Arab Emirates in two short years. There are far too many friends in the program to thank, but I would like to thank the WEMBA staff, Diane Harvey and Cathy Molony in particular, for their invaluable support. I’d also like to thank my mother and brother for supporting me throughout WEMBA and the long hours and late nights it took to get here.

My best memory of these past two yearsBest memory is doing a mud run with WEMBAs, because it captured on cold October afternoon what makes this an amazing experience. I distinctly remember thinking mid-way through, as we helped each other up rope ladders, through freezing cold water, and along a wooded trail, that this group of generous and talented people will go on to accomplish great things in the world. My buddies Praveen and Bakthiar carrying my bag from class to SCC and back when I broke my foot. Marvin’s (Peiying’s husband) guidance in getting our paper in shape during the first term. Thanks Marvin! Our presentation preps for Adv Corp Fin, Corp Val (shout out to Alex) that pretty much set the curve and made us really proud. My best memory of these past two yearsThere are so many to count, but just from the top of my head. Cannot think of Amtrak as just a train anymore. Spain trip where we just went to a bunch of wineries (not the Olympic gym). SCC 5th floor bar and the numerous drinks there, playing heads up etc..2 Halloweens at Kelley’s, Holi celebration, July 4th celebration, bowling at the WH and many more...

My advise for future WEMBAThe two years are tough and grueling, but enjoy it. It will fly by real fast and you won’t get it back. You will be in the company of one of the most successful, fun-loving, smart people. Have fun with them and make the most of it.

This is how I will remember my two years at WhartonI want to thank my study group, team 11 most and foremost. Without you guys, I couldn’t have survived first year! Although we kind of went our own ways for different electives, I have no doubt that we can still count on each other whenever we need to! I also want to thank Warren, Vic, Paul, Garima, Brad and Jackie, my adopted study group at 2nd year. You guys are so warm and nice! I also have my GCP team to thank for a great experience. Although we probably wouldn’t want to do it again, it was still a great fox hole we were in together! Maryam and Mythili, my second year would be so tough to go through without you! Finally a shout out to Avi for a great 622 project. That was an awesome job we did together, isn’t it?

My best memory of these past two yearsFirst year’s Christmas time was the best-- ugly sweater, secret Santa, preparing for GCP makes that a very special Christmas!

My advise for future WEMBADon’t plan your electives too much, stay with your study group if you can. A major is only a good to have. It matters more to figure out what you really want to do.

Other Personal Information: Charles and I started dating when I was taking GMAT and preparing for WEMBA application. When we first met, he asked, are you sure you want a relationship when you are going back to school? I said, I am fine with A and not A+ if we make each other happy. It has been a great two+ years ever since. We are moving in to our first house together right after graduation. Although both of us are not super social ani-mals, I hope we can stay connected with the big WEMBA family after graduation.

An epic day of running to the top of table mountain, getting lost in freezing fog, wandering to the dock in time to take a fairy to robben island (@Pete and Patrick), only to hop in a taxi and casually find out that South Africa was playing Nigeria for a qualifying round of the Africa Cup (soccer) , and ending the night with drinks/dinner with a writer and the producer for the show of Homeland filming in Cape Town (@Pete, Patrick, and Monisha).
