Year 3 and 4 Home Learning Happy Easter! We hope you have enjoyed some of the Easter challenges that were suggested last week. We have added some new ideas this week to give you even more activities to choose from. Enjoy! The whole school challenges remain the same, the updated deadline for which is Thursday 16th April. Each year group will award prizes for the best entries so dont forget to photograph or video your work. The other tasks are just for fun, and are aimed at giving you all exciting things to do whilst you are staying at home. English Challenges 1. Can you write an Easter-themed newspaper article? Can you write a persuasive letter to your parents persuading them to give you more chocolate? 3. English Challenges

1. Can you write an Easter-themed newspaper article?

Maths Challenges

1. Create a maths themed egg hunt! Write down your own maths questions on several bits of paper and then hide the answers around the house - each correct answer gets a mini-egg! You could create this for your parents to complete or they could make one for you.

2. How long are different parts of your body in chocolate eggs? How long are your fingers? What is your arm span in eggs?

3. The Mystery of the Easter Bunny Costume.

Can you follow the clues and decipher who ruined the Easter Bunny costume? Be careful - the answer is on the last page. Can you solve the mystery before your parents? Here is a link to the document:

Additional Challenges

1. Continue making Easter egg decorations to hang around your house and/or garden. Can you make a mosaic?

2. Do some Easter-themed baking. You could even melt one of your Easter eggs and reshape it or use it to decorate a biscuit.

3. Can you use lego or duplo to build a mini gym/playground for the Easter bunny to use?

4. The Egg Drop Challenge. Can you create a protective layer for an egg so that it doesn’t smash if you drop it from a height? How high can you drop it before it smashes?

5. Make an Easter themed message on the floor/ground using dif-ferent objects. How big can you make it? You could use twigs or leaves if you’re doing it outside or recyclable materials, toys or even pens if you’re doing it in-side. How creative can you be?

Whole School Challenges

Challenge 1—Easter Hat

Can you design and make an Easter Hat using things from around your house or in the garden?

Challenge 2– Easter Garden

Can you design and make an Easter garden in a small box? You could use things from around your house/garden, or things you find on your daily exercise. Your garden could be a celebration of Easter, or it could tell part of the Easter story.

Challenge 3—Decorate an egg

This requires a careful hand and patience… Can you blow out an egg, leaving just the shell, then decorate the shell with paint/felt tip/another medium of your choice?

Challenge 4—Easter Egg basket

Using one piece of A4 paper, can you create a basket that holds the most mini eggs possible? What design would be the strongest, and why?

Challenge 5—Easter Bunny Delivery Vehicle

Can you design and make a delivery vehicle for the Easter Bunny to deliv-er as many Easter eggs as possible? Let your imagination run wild!

Challenge 6– Easter Bird Feeder

Design and make a bird feeder that can either sit on a win-dowsill or hang from a tree. Take a photo of the birds feed-ing from it.

These challenges will run for two weeks. Entries must be sent to your year group email by 16th Apri .

Each year group winner will have their entry displayed on the school website and Facebook/Twitter. You will also win house points which can be collected when we are back in school.
