The A Level system – a quick reminder
Most students are studying 4 AS subjects plus General Studies, Critical Thinking, Cope, EPQ, CSLA or NVQ Spanish.
AS subjects made up of 2/3 units, to be examined this academic year.
A2 subjects begin when students return from AS examinations.
At September enrolment students will choose to carry on with four or three A2 subjects.
Students can only carry on into Year 13 if they pass three AS subjects ( grades A-E).
A* awarded at A2.

A Levels are hard!
AS results in Year 12 now more important than before.
The AS results will be cashed in and reported to UCAS.
Predicted grades still form an important part of the reference.
The rigour demanded at A level ismuch greater than at GCSE.

School Day 8.30am – 3.15pm Between September and December all students
are expected to attend all day every day. Private study periods to be completed in school. In January some concessions over home study
given providing progress monitoring data is good, work experience is organised and graduation hours have been collected.
Year 13 – greater freedom over self management of time.
Driving lessons should not be taken within the school day.
