2 iPad® set-up

!

The following steps must be performed before installing the iPad mini™ in the protective case.

A Activate the AssistiveTouch feature The AssistiveTouch feature allows to emulate the iPad mini™ Home button which is not accessible when in the protective case.

B Activate the Bluetooth® The connection between the motor handpiece and the application is done via Bluetooth®.

C Activate the Wi-Fi Wi-Fi is necessary to download the application from the App Store®.

Select the Wi-Fi network and enter your password to connect the iPad mini™.

D Set the volume to maximum

E Download the application from the App Store®

If you do not already have an Apple ID, follow the procedure on the “http://www.apple.com/support/appleid/” website.

3 Hardware installation

Only for first use, please fully charge the motor handpiece (~ 6 hours) to optimize battery life.

A According to your iPad Mini™ model, use the suitable kit.

B Stick the foams of your kit at the places indicated on the protective case.

C Enclose and center the iPad MiniTM in the protective case. Place the corresponding rubber plugs on the camera and the charging port.

D Separate the motor handpiece cover from the motor handpiece support.

E Install the motor handpiece case as protective case holder*.

4 Connect the App

F Only for the first use, select your stand-alone mode. See section 6 Motor handpiece operation for more information.

A Now that your motor handpiece is fully charged: Open the application.

D Check the motor handpiece serial number and click on the corresponding number on the iPad® screen.

C Wait a few seconds until the application detects the motor handpiece.

B Awaken the motor handpiece by pressing on the multifunction button once. Press the button again to activate the Bluetooth® and confirm that the Bluetooth® blue LED is blinking.

* The iPad® protective case and the motor handpiece cover produce static magnetic fields.

FE When the motor handpiece is connected, the icon

changes and the Bluetooth® blue LED switches from blinking to solid.

6 Motor Handpiece operation

Stand-alone Mode

The stand-alone mode allows you to work without the iPad® if needed. After the first connection, if you turn on the motor handpiece without connecting it to the iPad®, it will run with the stand-alone mode settings.

How to set the stand-alone mode

Help to identify a problem and verify the status of the motor handpiece.

A From the application click on this icon.

B Select between Continuous or Reciprocating stand-alone modes.

Disconnect the motor handpiece.

Motor START/STOP button.

Battery charge LED status.

Multifunction button

The multifunction button provides the following functions:

Connects the motor handpiece to the application via Bluetooth®.

Awakens the motor handpiece (the motor handpiece does not turn off, it automatically switches to stand-by mode).

Advance to the next file during a treatment.

Double press to move to the previous file.

Continuous rotation mode LED status.

Reciprocating motion mode LED status.

8 Disinfection and cleaning

Please follow the User Manual for complete disinfection, sterilization and cleaning procedures.

Do not use chloride detergent materials.

Do not use bleach or chloride disinfectant materials.

! Use only a disinfecting solution which is approved for its efficacy (VAH/DGHM-listing, CE marking, FDA and Health Canada approval) and in accordance with the User Manual of the disinfecting solution manufacturer.

Only use the motor handpiece with a single-use protective sleeve (reference A105800000000 X-SMART iQ Handpiece Sleeves).
