Vege-Polisher™ Washing and Polishing Equipment | English Smart Automation Maintenance Friendly Safe, Hygienic Design

description

The Wyma Vege-Polisher™ has a rotating drum made up of rows of nylon brushes. Produce enters via a large in-feed chute. Inside the drum, two water pipes spray fresh and/or recycled water on the produce as it travels along. At the out-feed, produce slides down a chute with minimal drop to ensure a smooth transition to downstream equipment. The Vege-Polisher™ can considerably improve the appearance of fresh vegetables, resulting in a greater percentage of packed premium produce and an increased presence on retailers’ shelves. Wyma’s experience with the rotary brush drum technology and brush specifications, combine to ensure vegetables are washed and polished to the highest retailing standards. You told us what you wanted and we listened

Smart automationAutomated machine operation with Torque Sense (load sensing), pre-settings, automatic brush rinse cycle, data logging, service and cleaning reminders – all controlled via touch screen on cantilever support arm or remote access.

Improved access for maintenance and cleaningDrum and brushes accessed via horizontally balanced side doors spanning the full length of the drum. Drive zones accessed via end guards for operator safety and to allow quick inspection and regular maintenance.

Turnkey electrical solutionElectrics with integrated cable routing to save time and cost on commissioning. No more onsite wiring required during installation - simply run services to the machine.

Refined water applicationExternal sprays bars fitted to improve water distribution and hygiene. Positioned external to the drum to minimise debris collecting on the bars. Fresh water spray purge available to flush excess dirt out of the piping.

Increased safety complianceSide doors and end guards fitted with RFID safety switches to meet operator safety standards. Manual override access available for line supervisors.

More suitable materialsMain components are stainless steel as standard providing a robust machine constructed to withstand harsh processing conditions: includes frame, side doors, wash ceiling, in-feed and out-feed chutes.

Automatic brush reversalDrum and brushes reverse direction automatically - at customisable time intervals - to extend bristle life. Manual out-feed gate adjustments no longer required when reversing direction.

Isolated wash zoneDrum partitions and sealed wash ceiling for maximum containment of water inside the drum – minimising water in the drive zones. Improved hygiene as more water and debris are contained within the wash zone.

Automated water recyclingIntegrated into the touch screen control with automated rotary brush, tank fill and dump valve cycles - providing a turnkey water management system to reduce water consumption.

Reliable drive trainFurther refinements to Wyma’s proven V and synchronous belt drive systems for reliable performance and durability.

The future of polishing is hereThe NEW Wyma Vege-Polisher™ is a result of over 20 years refinement based on your feedback. In 1994, the Vege-Polisher™ journey began with a simple need to lighten the manual workload of a local potato farmer. Twenty years and over 1,000 polishers later, we give you a polisher that is smarter, safer, and more hygienic and maintenance friendly than ever before.

I didn’t think you could make the machine any better – but the changes look great. You have obviously listened to your customers.

Fresh Thinking

The Wyma Vege-Polisher™ has a rotating drum made up of rows of nylon brushes. Produce enters via a large in-feed chute. Inside the

drum, two water pipes spray fresh and/or recycled water on the produce as it travels along. At the out-feed, produce slides down a

chute with minimal drop to ensure a smooth transition to downstream equipment.

The Vege-Polisher™ can considerably improve the appearance of fresh vegetables, resulting in a greater percentage of

packed premium produce and an increased presence on retailers’ shelves. Wyma’s experience with the rotary brush drum technology

and brush specifications, combine to ensure vegetables are washed and polished to the highest retailing standards.

* Optional features are available at an additional charge. Specifications subject to change. Patented machine access and control system.

Wide in-feed chute to suit large produce such as celeriac. Short in-feed transition onto soft nylon brushes for gentle handling. Removable soft-drop in-feed belt for easy cleaning*.

Sealed electrical cabinet easily fitted to either side of the machine. Drives mounted external to the electrical cabinet for improved ventilation (no fans to draw in dust). Drives rated IP54 or IP66* with appropriate protection from water and dust ingress.

End guards on hinged cantilever allowing full access and maximum visibility to the drive zones for quick inspection and regular maintenance.

Guide rollers mounted on top of drum and out of wash area for improved lifespan, access and hygiene.

Automated operation controlled via touch screen on cantilever arm - easily fitted to either side of machine (see automation details over page).

Geared motor positioned away from water and debris. Produce is unobstructed when exiting the gate to minimise potential damage. Integrated oil catch tray with drains under all geared motors for improved hygiene.

Isolated wash zone with partitions and a sealed wash ceiling for improved containment of water and debris inside the drum, shielding the drive zones.

Side doors and end guards are fitted with RFID safety switches to meet operator safety standards. Manual override available at a maintenance level managed by line supervisors.

Smooth contact surfaces with minimal debris catch points. Surfaces are easily sighted (maximum light and visibility inside machine) and accessed for improved hygiene and ease of cleaning.

Spray bars are positioned external to the brushes to minimise accumulation of debris on the bars. Integrated solenoids provide a turnkey water management solution.Pipes are fitted with hygienic tri-clamps easily uncoupled for cleaning. Optional fresh water spray purge available to flush excess dirt out of the piping*.

Ability to customise brush configuration to suit a range of produce varieties and conditions to maximise polishing effectiveness. Over 20 years experience in custom brush specification.

Unique, enhanced bearing protection features to maximise lifespan of equipment.

Reliable V and synchronous belt drive systems with proven performance and durability. Hinged belt tensioning system for quick and simple tension adjustment.

Horizontally balanced side doors provide unobstructed access along the full length of the drum and brush shafts for inspection, cleaning and maintenance.

Customer inspired solutions

Torque Sense Intelligent drive load sensing provides motor performance feedback to keep the polisher operating in the optimal zone.

Automated Drum Empty Position sensor on out-feed gate allows for automatic emptying of remaining produce inside the drum, allowing for efficient changeover to different produce varieties or closedown at end of the day.

Data logging Track running hours, load history, water usage*, service and fault trouble shooting for improved asset management. Online connectivity to Wyma After Sales team via ethernet cable. Wyma can provide technical support and servicing recommendations based on data received.

Automated brush reversal Drum and brushes reverse direction automatically - at customisable time intervals - to extend bristle life. No manual out-feed gate adjustments required when reversing direction.

Automated brush rinse cycle Assists with the daily cleaning routine. The spray bar applies water to soak brushes, and a fast spin cycle removes loose debris in the brushes before a final rinse.

Pre-settings Create and save custom polishing preferences (for multiple produce varieties and soil conditions) to save time, reduce rework and increase consistency of produce quality.

Automated Water Recycling System Automated rotary brush, tank fill and dump valve cycles, to reduce water consumption.

Checklists and reminders Set reminders to encourage regular, preventative maintenance and cleaning.

Remote screen display available via desktop (in central control room), via remote screen (at central control panel) or via Apple / Android App (on smartphone or tablet).
