The Mayor’s May FayreHistory will come to life for High Wycombe’s annual Mayor-making eventwith a history-themed May Fayre for all the family. Festival Jazz - Jean Toussaint and Byron WallenTwo world-famous musicians will join the Frank Toms Trio for a sensationaljazz event in this year’s festival. Tenor and soprano sax star Jean Toussaintfrom the Antilles shot to fame in the 1980s as a member of Art Blakey’s JazzMessengers. Since going solo his dynamic but melodic sound has moved himinto the world ratings.

Byron Wallen often works alongside Jean and must now rate as one of the alltime greats of trumpet. He originally made a big impact in Airto Moreira’s Latingroup, but is now kept busy with his own band. He appeared in theblockbuster film ‘The Talented Mr Ripley’.

Some spectacular music can be expected in the intimate surroundings ofWycombe’s Irish Club. Festival favourite Lynn Garner, will also be on hand fora few songs in the second set.

The Odd Couple (Female Version)

Fourways Drama presents the award winning Odd Couple which was firstproduced on Broadway in 1965. In 1985 Neil Simon wrote a female versionfor Broadway, in which the genders were reversed. Oscar and Felix havebecome Olive and Florence, and what a delightful transformation it is.Olive, a divorced woman, hates housework and cooking. When Florence iskicked out by her husband, Olive invites her to move in. The ensuing battleof wills mirrors their disasterous marriages and now threatens theirfriendship.
