We all have stories to tell. But how do you tell your story in a compelling way? In this class, you will learn how to write about past experiences as a way to inform the present. We will distinguish between recollection and autobiography, emotion and information, truth and fact, and learn how to give shape to our stories and draw meaning from them. Classes will be in a workshop format, where we will take turns reading and editing each other’s works-in-progress in a constructive and respectful way. This class will be held at Sprout, in a relaxed environment, over food and drinks. By the end of four sessions, each student will have completed a polished personal essay/short memoir piece ready for publication, a reading, or just to share with family and friends. Reading materials and refreshments included.

31 Guitar Workshop Thu Feb 23 1 12noon - 2:00pm $ 600 The Center David Pendery

The chords covered in this course are not taught in any guitar class, and many are almost entirely unused by guitar players. These “tricks” and techniques cover varieties of chords that are beautiful and resonating. Beyond the basic chords found in the first three frets and standard barre chords, these chords can be played up and down the neck of the guitar, creating a vivid openness that will open your eyes to new configurations of what the guitar can do. Electric or acoustic, these chords are ready to provide you a truly fascinating study of resounding new guitar voicings! Bring your guitar to class.
