A congressional analyst says the Founding Fathers would be appalled to learn that for the fi rst time in history, the federal govern-

KIM CLEMEMT:

This is a word for the United States of America. I’ve been caught up

into a spirit world. I cannot move

from there now. For God says, there is a sign,

there is a sign that is coming from the heavens and you will see it. It is as a woman that holds a child, the child that has been born. And God said, the enemy shall say, “I must spew out of my mouth the waters so that there will be

a fl ood, and so the fl ood will take this generation and take

this child.” But the Spirit of God said, and hear the word of the Lord: the earth shall save the

woman, the earth shall save the child, the earth shall swallow up the water and there shall be no fl ood of evil nor iniquity. There

shall be no fl ood of evil nor iniquity, says the Spirit of God.

They shall not take this that is about to be born and cause that to happen that happened in the previous generation and the previous move. There shall not be barrenness, there shall not be any miscarriages, there

shall be no dues paid. God said there shall be no divorce, and there shall be no people that

shall say it is okay to do these things. For God said this that

is about to be born is one of the holiest moves of My Spirit and it shall be done with the most unholy people that are alive

today, says the Lord.

America, hear the word!

I’m seeing all kinds of things, I see a spider web and I see a spider and this thing that the

spider has caught, God said, is a necessity. Why? Because

the Spirit of God says, this has weaved its web in the palaces,

the spider has weaved its web in the palaces, says the Lord, even in the greatest of royalty in my

kingdom, the chosen generation. We have found spiders and we have found cobwebs, and God said, this has to be removed.

For the Spirit of God says, even as America has prayed and the

people have called out, this vision that has been caught has been brought to your attention is so that you will understood

something is being born, a movement is being born, and

the un-holiest shall become the holiest. And those that are

of much iniquity shall become the saints of the Most High God. Those who have rejected

him shall fall on their knees, and they

shall become as the Davids of this day.

You don’t understand that God said, I will open your eyes with

the knowledge that is given tonight. The earth is crying for the manifestation of the sons of God. The earth is crying

out for the manifestation of this movement that is about to be born in the United States of America, in New Zealand, in Australia, in Africa, in South

Africa. God says, in England, in Scandinavia, in Greece there shall be a very unusual move.

In Italy even the Roman Catholics shall say, Abba Father,

and they shall say, there is only one Christ, and they shall embrace this thing, says the

Lord. For the present Pope that I have given shall be washed in the blood of Christ in a way that they have never seen before,

millions and millions of Roman Catholics will cry out and they will speak with a new language with stammering lips, they will

prophesy. For a prophetic movement shall come upon the

Roman Catholic church and the Protestants shall say, this is not right, but God says, it

shall be right, for I will join their hands together and they shall be as one and it shall come to

pass. It shall come to pass that the dream of Martin Luther and the dream of those that took on Protestants and their movement,

God said, they will see the joining of hands.

And God said, it shall then move into Russia, and it shall move into Indonesia. It shall move

then into China. It shall move, God says, into places never

dreamed of, but one place that it shall certain shake shall be the Middle East, says the Spirit of God. For the Middle shall defy

SANDRA BULLOCK: SANDRA BULLOCK: PORTRAYS A REALPORTRAYS A REAL CHRISCHRISTIANTIAN

Actress Sandra Bullock says meeting Leigh Anne Tuohy,

who she portrays in The Blind Side, showed her there really are some Christians who “walk the walk.”

The fi lm, which opened the week before Thanksgiving, presents the true story of the Tuohys -- a well-off white family in Tennessee -- who welcome a homeless black youth into their home and then adopt him as their son. That young man, Michael Oher, became an All-American selection for Ole Miss and a fi rst-round draft pick. He now plays for the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens.

Bullock says thanks to the Tuohys, who attend Grace Evangelical Church in Memphis, she now has “faith in those who say they represent a faith.” Getting to know Leigh Anne Tuohy, says the actress, showed her that religious faith can be authentic. “She was so open and honest and forthright,” Bullock shares, “and I said, wow, I fi nally met someone who practices but doesn’t preach.”

Tuohy isn’t like some hypocritical church-goers she’s known, adds Bullock. “The beauty of Leigh Anne was one of my biggest questions was how people use their faith and their religion as a banner,” she says. “And then they don’t do the right thing, but they go ‘I’m a good Christian and I go to church and this is the way you should live your life.’”

Bullock admits she was wary of Christians before she met the Tuohys. “Whereas...before I was like, do not give me a lecture on how to live my life when I know I’m a pretty decent human being,” says the actress. “I might not go to church everyday, but I know I do the right thing or try to. You’re going to church and you’re still sleeping around on your wife...how are you better than I am? So I fi nally met people who walk the walk.”

Leigh Anne Tuohy says she hopes The Blind Side inspires more people

to help others. “You don’t have to go out and bring a child into your home -- that’s not what’s required,” says Tuohy. “But you can do something -- everybody is capable of doing something. So whatever your something is, do it well. Make a difference.”

Oher’s mom says she enforces a behavior code when she watches her adopted son play for

the Baltimore Ravens. “I had to have a little ‘come to Jesus’ talk with my section at [the] Ravens’ stadium,” she says. “I had to explain to everyone that, okay, we’re going to have a change of attitude. There is a two-drink limit, there is no cussing in this section. You don’t know who you’re sitting next to -- I’m a player’s mom.”

The Blind Side has earned more than $100 million dollars at the box offi ce so far.

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt medi-tate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Joshua 1:8 I want you to notice that the Word declares that prosperity and success belong to people who are hearers and doers of His Word. So to make this simple, if we are not hearing the uncom-promised Word of God constantly, we cannot possibly be a people who will prosper and succeed.

Gods’ main thought here in Joshua 1:8 is compelling us to focus our attention on living our lives according to His Word. He doesn’t want us to live our lives controlled by our problems or our circum-stances. He wants us free!

If you are not plugged into a local body of believers, who are constantly ministering and encouraging you to meditate on the Word of God, you will never be in a posi-tion of experiencing true prosperity and success in your life.

There are two defi nitions to the word “prosperous” here in Joshua 1:8. The fi rst defi nition of prosperity is to become mentally intelligent, to gain the wisdom of God in any situation. The second defi nition of the word prosperity means to PUSH FORWARD and to BREAK OUT.

The fi rst step in breaking out of your troubled circumstance is getting in a posi-tion where you are hearing and meditat-ing on the Word of God. If you are not in a position of hearing Gods Word, or you are in a place where the Word of God is being watered down, you will never get to a place of freedom and prosperity in your life!

Romans 10:17 declares faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. 1 John 5:4 declares and this is the vic-tory that overcomes the world even our faith. When the Bible makes this phrase: “the world” it is referring to a system of living. In fact the Bible tells us in 2 Cor 4:4 that Satan is the god of this world system, who constantly blinds the minds of them that believe not. His goal is to imprison you, to hold you in darkness.

Colossians 1:13 which declares “[The Father] has delivered and drawn us to Himself out of the control and the dominion of darkness and has trans-

ferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love” (Amp)

Colossians 1:13 tells us that we have been delivered from the control and dominion of the darkness Not only that but God has already translated you and I into a place of liberty, a place of Glory, a place of freedom - and that place is His Kingdom!

YOU SEE, LIVING BY HIS WORD, IS LIVING IN HIS KINGDOM!

LIVING IN HIS KINGDOM, IS LIVING IN FREEDOM!

So if you are going to have faith to over-come this worlds system, and begin living in Gods Kingdom, you are going to have to hear His Word constantly. When you con-tinue in His Word, then you will be able to ACT ON, OR DO HIS WORD.

In Isaiah 61 the Word prophesied that Jesus has the power to open the prison to them that are bound. That’s exactly what the world system, and religious tradition tries to do. It attempts to keep us impri-sioned to its death cycle of negativism, defeatism, and death. John 10:10 tells us plainly that the enemy comes to kill, steal, and destroy, but the Lord has come to give us LIFE, and LIFE MORE ABUNDANTLY. We must realize that God has provided a way, and Jesus was our example, on how to be FREE from the world’s death cycle of defeat.

Jesus did it! He paid the price, and has opened the doors. You can begin living in His Kingdom right now. Once you accept Him as your Lord and Savior, begin seeking out His Word. Discover what He has said, and live your life by it. Begin meditating on the Word of God until you are able to observe to DO that WORD! You see it is by doing or acting on the Word of the Lord, that you and I begin experiencing the PROSPERITY and FREEDOM of living in His Kingdom!

DON’T TALK ABOUT ‘EXIT DON’T TALK ABOUT ‘EXIT STRATEGY’ IN AFGHANISTANSTRATEGY’ IN AFGHANISTAN

A veterans’ organization is hope-ful the additional 30,000 troops

President Obama plans to send to Afghanistan will be suffi cient to create the same kind of surge that proved successful in Iraq. But the group doesn’t think it’s a good idea to talk about an exit strategy.

Tonight President Obama will deliver a national address from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, NY, where he is expected to announce an increase of up to 35,000 U.S. troops as part of a revised strat-egy for the war in Afghanistan.

But there is already evidence the president’s plan might face a roadblock by his own Democratic-controlled Senate. Senator Carl Levin (D-Michigan), who chairs the Senate Armed Services Commit-tee, says any plan to signifi cantly expand U.S. troop levels must show how those reinforcements will help Afghans help themselves.

Maj. Rose Lopez Keravuori (USAR), a spokeswoman for Vets

for Freedom, says her group sup-ports General Stanley McChrystal’s plan for a troop surge.

“A U.S. surge is going to allow for sustained counterinsurgency oper-ations,” she explains, “which allows for the Afghani national army and

the Afghani national police -- amongst other things -- to help provide se-curity for its own population.”

But Keravuori, who served under McChrystal’s com-mand in Afghani-stan, says Vets for Freedom has a problem with a so-

called exit strategy. The terrorists, she says, have time on their side.

“If they know we’re going to pull out, they’ll wait us out,” the Army veteran says. “We need to show the government and the population that we are there for a long term to help secure them. So it’s a little too early to talk about an exit strategy.”

Keravuori says if the United States is patient, it can achieve success in that country.

people to begin pleading the fact that these cars are still fantastic cars,” he suggests. “There [are] many non-profi ts across the coun-try, many rescue missions, my colleagues that have auto lots. But what we’re asking...is, why do we have to crush these cars?”

Marlette believes the program would be more effective if dealers were allowed to donate the used

cars to charities. “It will be a win-win for every-body. These cars, not only do we sell for revenue, but we use these to put our people into a vehicle,” he adds. “There are many people who

can’t afford a brand new car or even $4,000 or $5,000 for a car.”

A California homeless shelter is fac-ing a drop in donations because of the government’s “cash for clunkers” program.

For years now, Mission Solano, a ministry for the homeless, has oper-ated a charitable car lot in Fairfi eld, California. People drop off their used cars at the lot in exchange for tax benefi ts, and the cars are then sold, with proceeds going to the ministry.

But the “cash for clunkers” program -- the much-publicized $4,500 fed-eral sub-sidy given to consumers who trade in their cars for new energy effi cient models -- has already affected Mission Solano’s charitable car lot. Ron Marlette is executive di-rector of the ministry.

How do you get these promises from this heavenly bank? First of all, read God’s Word and to fi nd out exactly what promises belong to you. Speak these promises out of your mouth. Thank God for His promise. Even though you don’t see it or may not feel it, thank Him for it. His p r o m i s e is true, w h e t h e r you feel or see it.

This is faith - t r u s t i n g God to do what He said He would do. Faith is speaking God’s promises and knowing they belong to you even though you may not see or feel them. Faith “sees” with the “eyes” of your spirit man inside you (your heart) - not with the eyes in your head.

Let’s say that one morning you wake up and your body is sick. You have a temperature and you ache all over. You read in Isaiah 53:5 that Jesus died on the cross and took your sickness so that you don’t have to be sick.

What are you going to do? Your body says you are sick. You don’t feel good. The Bible says you are well. You must make a choice. Do you believe what God says or what your body says?

Don’t speak about how your body feels. Speak God’s Word of healing. Don’t get discouraged and give up. Keep speaking God’s Word. Keep trusting God - no matter what.

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”

- 2 Corinthians 5:7

What is faith? Faith is a simple thing. It means to trust

God. It means that you know just how much God loves you and that He will take care of you. Whatever He has promised to do, He will do - no matter what.

Your Dad or Mom might have a checking account at your neighborhood bank. A checking account is a place where they can safely keep their money and still take it out whenever they need it by writing a check. A check is a piece of paper in a little booklet which they can use instead of dollar bills when they need to buy something.

It’s not important for your parents to ‘see’ their money every time they write out a check. They don’t need to see it to know that the money belongs to them. They can spend their money any way they wish. It belongs to them. They trust the bank to keep the money safe for them until they write out a check to use it.

All of God’s promises of healing, joy, love, and forgiveness work the same way as your parent’s checking account. Even though you may not always see or feel the promises, they belong to you. Instead of the promises in the neighborhood bank, these promises are from your bank in heaven.

Ten Ten CommandmentsCommand Displays

While there have been dozens of rulings striking down Ten Commandments displays (another indication that federal judges need to be appointed to the courts who are well-versed in original constitutional understandings); no ruling has been more publicized than that against Judge Roy Moore in Alabama. In that case, the 11th Federal Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that a 5,280 pound granite monument of the Ten Commandments could not be displayed in the rotunda of the Alabama State Judicial Building. The ACLU, Americans United for Separation of Church and State, and the

Southern Poverty Law Center fi led suit against the Ten Commandments display on behalf of three attorneys. And why did those attorneys want the monument removed? They alleged that they had been “personally offended” by the monument and “as a result, suffered direct injury.” A three-judge panel of the 11th Federal Circuit Court of Appeals agreed with them and prohibited the display. In order to reach their decision, the panel of federal judges transformed themselves into an ecclesiastical council of theologians. They ruled that the version of the Commandments posted by Judge Moore was a “Protestant” version and that “Jewish, Catholic, Lutheran and Eastern Orthodox faiths use different parts of their holy texts as the authoritative Ten Commandments.” Strange! I thought that “Do not kill” and “Do not steal” meant the same regardless

of the version! In fact, I am not aware of any person in America who, after seeing the granite monument, would cry out, “I have just seen the 9th command forbidding perjury, but it is a Protestant version of the Ten Commandments that I just saw, so I cannot obey it for I am a Lutheran (or a Catholic, or a Jew, or whatever).”

The 11th Circuit had ignored an elementary principle of law—and thus a fundamental

Author and historian David Barton is the Founder and President of WallBuilders, a national pro-family organization which distributes historical, legal, and statistical information; and helps citizens become active in their local schools and communities. WallBuilders is a name taken from the Bible book of Nehemiah. And just as Nehemiah led a grassroots movement in Jerusalem to rebuild the walls of that city and restore its strength and honor; so, too, WallBuilders seeks to energize the grassroots today to rebuild that which makes America strong—its constitutional, moral, and religious foundations.

Ten Commandmentsdments Displays Displays responsibility of the courts: establish the spirit and intent of a law before making any ruling about it.

Signer of the Constitution John Dickinson had explained the importance of this legal principle: [N]othing is more certain than that the forms of liberty may be retained when the substance is gone. In government, as well as in religion, “the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.” 2 Cor. 3:6

FREEDOM

Actually, the Ten Command-ments themselves were the result of God’s demonstra-tion of this principle. When God delivered the Com-mandments, He told Moses “According to the tenor of those words I have made a covenant with you” (Exodus 34:27). That is, God Himself declared that the Ten Com-mandments were merely the general theme (the tenor) of what He wanted - that is, “Don’t steal,” “Don’t kill,” “Don’t commit perjury,” etc. were simply the summation of over 600 laws given at or about the same time.

That these laws simply rep-resent the spirit of all civil and criminal laws was made clear by an elderly Texas woman, Esther Armstrong. Despite her advanced years, Esther maintained a min-istry in local prisons and jails, frequently visiting the

inmates, all of who consid-ered her as their own grand-mother. One day, one of the “jail-house-attorney” inmates (a prisoner who has become obsessed with the study of the law) told Esther in amaze-ment: “Mama Esther? Did you realize that there are over one-hundred thousand laws that will put you in jail?” To which she promptly replied, “Do you realize that there are Ten that will keep you out?”

Nevertheless, the federal judg-es refused to consider the gen-eral purpose of the Command-ments. Instead, they focused on theological minutia about which version of the Ten Com-mandments was on display (which they apparently felt completely competent to ad-dress) much in the same way that theologians of former gen-erations vigorously continued in next issue of Freedom

Lovely Selection of engagement rings

We know that God has

made promises to His children. The Word tell us this on many occasions. We may not know how or when our promised return will be manifested, but we know it will be.

Therefore, we wait on the Lord in quietness of spirit and assurance of heart because we know that He is “faithful who has promised” (Heb. 11:11). We remain in complete calm and tranquility because, like the prophet Isaiah, we know that this is the inheritance of the servants of the Lord, and that our righteousness is of Him (Isa. 54:17).

And there was a famine in the land, beside the fi rst famine that was in the days of Abraham...And the Lord appeared unto him (Isaac), and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of. Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father. Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the Lord blessed him.(Genesis 26:1-3,12)Here we see that while many others were seeking refuge from the famine by fl eeing to Egypt, Isaac was instructed by the Lord to stay in the land and sow in the midst of famine.

The result of his obedience was a hundredfold return on what he sowed.

That is God’s solution to fi nancial famine. Not to withhold, but to give, to sow in time of adversity. Once again, we see that God is seed-minded, not need-minded.

I believe that is the way you and I are going to come out of our fi nancial crisis: by remaining in the land of promise and faithfully sowing in time of famine.

PRINCIPLES OF PROSPERITY

GOD’S SOLUTION FOR YOUR NEEDby Jerry Savelle

Do you remember the incident that took place at the table during the Last Supper? Jesus knew that Judas was making plans to betray Him to the Jews.

During the meal, He turned to him and said, “What you must do, do quickly” (John 13:27). The disciples heard this exchange between them, but thought that since Judas kept the money bag, Jesus was instructing him to go and give money to someone in need. Obviously Jesus had a reputation for giving.

That is the kind of reputation the Lord wants you and me to have as His children. He has promised that as we remain “in the land,” (in Him and in His Word and will), He will provide for us a multiplied return - a bountiful blessing - if we are faithful and obedient enough to continue to sow in time of famine.

Giving is a Lifestyle, Not an Experiment

When the Lord told the children of Israel to “prove” Him, to “put Him to the test” in this area of giving, He did not mean that to be a one-time

incident. He meant that if they were continually faithful to him in their tithing and giving, He would be continually faithful to them in His abundant, overfl owing provision for their needs.

What God is asking us to do is to make godly giving a lifestyle - not just an experiment.

Many people try this principle for a few weeks, then if they don’t see immediate results, they decide it doesn’t work, and give up.

When the overfl owing blessing doesn’t appear instantly, they quit giving. They don’t understand that this is a lifestyle to be adopted and maintained.

Several years ago I wrote a book entitled “Giving: the Essence of Living.” That title says it all. That’s what living is all about - giving. A lot of people live their whole lives “on the take,” always trying to get something for nothing. That is not the lifestyle Jesus introduced into this world. The Christian lifestyle is one of giving.

Jesus told His disciples: Greater love hath no man than this, that a

man lay down his life for his friends (John 15:13). Now the expression “lay down his life,” in this verse, does not always mean to die.

To “lay down your life” for another person means to put the other person’s will, desire, and well-being ahead of your own. To do that, you don’t necessarily have to die physically. You simply have to be willing to dedicate your life to working for that person’s welfare and benefi t, rather than for your own.

Jesus says that kind of unselfi sh giving of oneself is the greatest love known to man. It is the lifestyle which He introduced, displayed and modeled for us, and it is the kind of lifestyle He calls us to adopt. That is God’s ultimate solution for need.

What are you willing to do for Him?

Are you willing to sell out?

If you’ve sold your whole fi eld to buy the treasure, and if you’ve given your whole life in exchange for the life He gives you, then you’ll do anything for Him. You don’t care what it is. If He asks you to go to Africa or Asia on a mission trip, you’ll go. If He asks you to quit cussing or quit smoking, you’ll do it. None of that really matters, because He’s given you life.

You may think, Well, I don’t know that the Lord has asked me to do anything specifi cally. But what about your integrity and your character? Do you often ask yourself, “What would Jesus do or say in this particular situation?” Or do you make decisions based on what your friends think is cool?

Vindicate me, O Lord, for I have walked in my integrity; I have [expectantly] trusted in, leaned on, and relied on the Lord without wavering and I shall not slide. (Ps. 26:1 AMP)

The righteous man is rescued from trouble, and it comes on the wicked instead. (Prov. 11:8)

What about being submissive to your mom and dad? Are you so set in your mind as to what you want to do that you don’t even listen to anything your parents tell you? Just because you are a teenager doesn’t mean you have to be rebellious. That is a lie from the pit of hell! How can you expect to hear from God, whom you can’t see, when you don’t listen to your parents, whom you can see? How can God trust you with a position of authority if you don’t submit to and respect those who have been placed in authority over you?

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor

your father and mother”—which is the fi rst commandment with a promise —”That it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.” (Eph. 6:1-3)

Nothing on this earth can be compared to the greatness of

the eternal life that’s inside of you. If you haven’t given all that you are in exchange for Jesus, the treasure, right now’s the time to do it.

I want you to pray the following prayer with me. If you’ve already done this, then do it again. Make sure you’ve given

everything to Him.

"Lord Jesus, I give You my all. Every piece of my heart, every piece of my life, it all belongs to You. It doesn’t belong to me. I give everything in exchange for the new life You give me, because I know You gave everything for me. I commit every part of me to You. It all belongs to You—my summers, my days at school, my time with my parents, my future, my career, my job, my college education, everything belongs to You. I submit my life to You, because You’ve given Your life and put it inside of me. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen. "

The past few months, my father has talked about going home to be with the Lord on a daily basis. He has run his race and fi nished his course. Now he is in heaven, and we as Christians have the Bible promise that someday we will be re-united. My heart is sad, but my faith in God is soaring.”

Granville Oral Roberts was born into poverty in Bebee, Okla., on Jan. 24, 1918. He began stutter-ing as a young child and then, as a teenager, contracted a poten-tially deadly case of tuberculosis. Bedfast at 17, he was carried to a revival meeting by his older brother, where a healing evangelist was praying for the sick.

On the way, he clearly heard God speak to him, saying, “Son, I am going to heal you, and you are to take My healing power to your generation. You are to build Me a university based on My authority and on the Holy Spirit.”

Roberts was miraculously healed of tuberculosis and stuttering at the revival meeting. His healing ministry was born several years later. “If a former stuttering, tuberculosis-rid-den young Indian boy in an obscure county in Oklahoma can see the invisible and do the impossible—and still do it—so can you!” Roberts once said.

Roberts was a legendary and be-loved fi gure in a segment of Chris-tianity that emphasizes healing, speaking in tongues, and other gifts of the Holy Spirit, as described in the New Testament.

Dr. Jack Hayford, president of the International Church of the Four-square Gospel, said of Roberts, “If God had not, in His sovereign will, raised up the ministry of Oral Rob-erts, the entire charismatic move-ment might not have occurred. Oral shook the landscape with the ines-capable reality and practicality of Jesus’ whole ministry. His teaching and concepts were foundational to the renewal that swept through the whole church. He taught concepts that spread throughout the world and simplifi ed and focused a spiritu-al lifestyle that is embraced by huge sectors of today’s church.”

After his healing at age 17, Rob-erts spent a dozen years pastor-ing churches in Oklahoma and Georgia, and preaching at reviv-als around the country, while also studying at Oklahoma Baptist Uni-versity and Phillips (Okla.) Univer-sity.

Then, in 1947, he founded Oral Roberts Evangelistic Associa-

tion (OREA) and began conduct-ing crusades across America and around the world, attracting crowds of thousands—many who were sick and dying, and in search of healing. Through the years, he conducted more than 300 crusades on six con-tinents. OREA offi cials estimate that he personally laid hands in prayer on more than 2 million people. The min-istry continues under the leadership of Roberts’ son, Richard, who has ministered in the U.S. and around the world for almost 30 years.

In 1954, Oral Roberts revolutionized evangelism by bringing television cameras into services, providing what he liked to call a “front-row seat to miracles” for millions of viewers. Years later, he began a television program, “Oral Roberts Presents.” More than 50 years later, the minis-try’s daily program, “The Place for Miracles,” continues to minister to millions on over 100 television sta-tions, multiple cable and satellite networks, and can be seen around the world via the Internet.

In 1958, Roberts founded the Abun-dant Life Prayer Group to address the around-the-clock needs of those suffering and requesting prayer. More than 50 years later, prayer part-ners continue to receive calls from around the world seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Over the years, they have received more than 23 million phone calls for prayer, along with astounding reports of miracles in answer to prayer.

Roberts answered God’s call to build an institute of higher learn-ing in 1963, founding Oral Roberts University on 500 acres in Tulsa, Okla. Longtime friend Billy Graham offi cially dedicated ORU four years later. In the 1970s graduate schools, including Medicine, Nursing, Den-tistry, Law, Education, and Theol-ogy, were added. Roberts served as school president until 1993, when he became chancellor.

In 1981, Roberts founded the City of Faith Medical and Research Center, merging the healing power of medicine and prayer. The facility closed after eight years, leaving a lasting impact on the understanding by many medical professionals of the importance of treating the whole person—body, mind and spirit.

Roberts wrote more than 130 books, including such classics as “If You Need Healing, Do These Things,” and “The Fourth Man.” His book “The Miracle of Seed Faith” has more than 8 million copies in circulation. This book’s key principles—God is your Source, sow your seed out of your

Heritage suggests that if the consti-tutionality of the individual mandate is put to the test, it is “very unlikely” that the Supreme Court would either extend current constitutional

doctrines, or devise new ones, to uphold “this new and unprecedented claim of federal power.” The memo also accuses sponsors of the current healthcare bills of using a “gimmick” to make the personal mandate ap-pear to revenue-enhancing instead of an unconstitutional tax.

need, and expect a miracle har-vest—formed a fundamental part of Roberts’ ministry and legacy.

“After I’m gone, others will have to judge how well I’ve obeyed God’s command not to be an echo but to be a voice like Jesus,” Roberts said. “As far as my own conviction is concerned, I’ve tried to be that voice with every fi ber of my being, regardless of the cost.”

Roberts was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn, a daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca Ann and Mar-shall Nash; a son, Ronald David Roberts; a grandchild, Richard Oral Roberts; his mother and father; two sisters, Velma Roberts and Jewel Faust; and two brothers, Elmer and Vaden Roberts.

He is survived by a son and daugh-ter-in-law, Richard and Lindsay Roberts; a daughter and son-in-law, Roberta and Ronald Potts, all of Tulsa; as well as 12 grandchil-dren and several great-grandchil-dren.

In lieu of fl owers, the family re-quests that donations be made to the Oral Roberts Ministry Healing Missions Fund, as part of the ongo-ing goal of Oral Roberts Ministries to take the saving, healing, deliver-ing message of the Gospel into all the world until Jesus returns. Gifts can be sent in care of Oral Rob-erts Ministries, P.O. 2187, Tulsa, Okla. 74102, or online at www.OralRoberts.com.

Tulsa Mayor Dewey Bartlett re-leased the following statement about Dr. Roberts:

“I am saddened by the passing of Oral Roberts, and my prayers are with his family,” said Tulsa Mayor Dewey Bartlett. “Reverend Roberts was an important force in Tulsa for many decades. He was a trendset-ter in business, education and re-ligion, and Oral Roberts University was a great example of his vision. So many of our fellow Tulsans owe their success to the education they received at ORU. His spirit and legacy will live on in the hearts and

minds of local citizenry.”

Rep. John Sullivan released the fol-lowing: “I am personally saddened by the death of Oral Roberts. Rev. Rob-erts was not only an Oklahoma icon, but an icon of the modern Christian movement in the United States.

Roberts and his ministry advanced the teachings of Christ in ways we will never fully understand. Rev. Roberts was a pioneer in Christian higher education and his namesake university has become an Oklahoma landmark.

I know that Oral Roberts University will persevere as it has in recent years, and take the life lessons of Oral Roberts to heart. While Oral Roberts leadership, wisdom and faith in God will be missed, they will live on everyday in the hearts and minds of countless ORU students, alumni and so many other Oklahomans.

May God Bless Oral Roberts, his family and the generations he has touched.”

President Barack Obama’s special repre-sentative for North Korea said Wednes-

day that any future nuclear disarmament talks will have to deal with an atomic program the North has only recently revealed.

Stephen Bosworth, just returned from the Obama administration’s fi rst high-level talks with North Korea, told reporters at the State Department that the North’s uranium enrichment program, which gives the country a second way to make atomic bombs, will “clearly be on the agenda” when the stalled disarmament negotiations resume.

“They put it there,” he said of the North, by publicly announcing they had fi nished the fi rst experimental phase of a such a program.

The six-nation disarmament talks, which Bosworth was trying to re-start during his trip to the capital, Pyongyang, have focused on the North Korea’s plutonium production. But uranium has always lingered as a point of contention. The current nuclear crisis with North Korea began in 2002 when the Bush administration said the North admitted to a secret uranium program during U.S.-North Korean talks in Pyongyang.

In an attempt to bring the North back to talks, Bosworth brought to Pyong-yang a letter from Obama to North Korean leader Kim Jong Il, the State Department said. Neither Bosworth nor the State Department spokesman would talk about the letter’s contents, but Bosworth said he brought no message from Kim when he returned to Washington.

“I was the message,” Bosworth said of his visit. “I was conveying very di-rectly to the North Korean leadership a vision for the future which would be a lot different than the present or the past,” provided the North starts aban-doning its nuclear programs.

Bosworth also said he urged the North not to conduct a third nuclear test. The U.N. Security Council tight-ened sanctions in June in response to North Korea’s second under-ground nuclear test. The sanctions ban the country from developing its nuclear program and selling conven-tional arms.

Bosworth said the North lobbied to have those sanctions eased, some-thing he said wouldn’t happen until North Korea came back to nuclear negotiations and made signifi cant progress on getting rid of its atomic weapons.

Both Washington and Pyongyang agreed during Bosworth’s trip on the need to resume the stalled talks, but North Korea did not make a fi rm commitment on when it would re-join the negotiations. Bosworth said Wednesday that he did not know when those talks might begin.

In what was seen as a breakthrough at the time, North Korea promised in 2005 to begin abandoning its nu-clear programs in return for aid and political concessions. But the talks have deadlocked since. Pyongyang walked away from the negotiations this year in anger over the sanctions.

Meanwhile, Thai authorities are in-specting 35 tons of weapons seized from a cargo plane loaded in North Korea _ the latest known case of Pyongyang’s illicit weapons trade in violation of U.N. sanctions.

North Korea is believed to earn hundreds of millions of dollars ev-ery year by selling missiles, missile parts and other weapons to coun-tries such as Iran, Syria and Myan-mar.

Bosworth would only say that the Thai seizure shows that sanctions against the North are working.
