Examples of Renewable Resources

First of all, Energy can exist in a variety of forms, such as electrical, mechanical, chemical, thermal, or nuclear, and can be transformed from one form to another.

A Renewable energy source, Solar Energy, which is used directly for heating and lighting homes and other buildings, for generating electricity, and for hot water heating, solar cooling, and a variety of commercial and industrial uses.

Another Renewable energy source, Geothermal Energy, which Taps the Earth’s internal heat for a variety of uses, including electric power production, and the hating and cooling of buildings.

Examples of Nonrenewable Resources

Oil, which comes from fossils of plants and animals, is nonrenewable because once the source has been used, it cannot be used again.

Natural Gas, which is also a nonrenewable resource, is found by drilling through the surface, and once it is used, it can’t be used again.

Lastly, Nuclear Energy is sometimes known as a renewable resource, but Nuclear Energy it actually uses uranium, which can’t be replenished.

Advantages of Renewable Resources

The major advantage of renewable resources, is that is can never be ran out. There is always some way to obtain the resources.

Renewable Resource factories also need less workers or advisors, which reduces the cost of operation.

Lastly, they do not cause pollution or produce waste, which is also a major advantage of renewable resources.

Disadvantages of Renewable Resources

One disadvantage of renewable resources, it is sometimes hard to get enough electricity to power different facilities or factories.

Another disadvantage, renewable resources depend on the environment or weather to produce their products. So if the weather isn’t nice, it sometimes hard to obtain the sources.

Advantages of Nonrenewable Resources

Fossil fuels are sometimes easy to obtain and are relatively cheap. So this allows you to get more for much less money.

An extreme amount of electricity can be produced by different fossil fuels, which are cheap, more electricity and less money when using nonrenewable resources.

Disadvantages of Nonrenewable Resources

Fossil fuels, which are nonrenewable resources, are being used faster than the Earth can restore them.

Another major problem, burning fossil fuels, causes great amounts of pollution from nitrous oxides, and acid rain from sulphur dioxide.

What is a renewable resource?

A renewable resource is any natural resource that can be replenished through nature and the passage of time.

What is a nonrenewable resource?

A nonrenewable resource is any natural resource that can not be produced, grown or generated.

What is the difference?The difference between

nonrenewable resources and renewable resources is that renewable resources can be reproduced through nature, where as nonrenewable resources can not be reproduced, excluding fossil fuels which take millions of years to be produced.

How fossil fuels are formed and used, their advantages and disadvantages, and their future use.

How they’re formed

To begin, fossil fuels have received their name because of how they were formed, which is from the organic remains of prehistoric plants and animals. When these ancient living things died, they became buried underneath different types of sediment, and their was energy preserved after decomposing.

How are they used? We use fossil fuels for many different

purposes. From powering homes and factories to being used for transportation, fossil fuels are heavily relied on in today’s society. Energy is extracted from fossil fuels through combustion, which is a complex sequence of chemical reactions that extracts the energy. This releases chemicals and even radioactive materials into the atmosphere, which is why fossil fuels are often the subject of debate and opposition.

Advantages

A few advantages of fossil fuels are; Their ability to generate huge amounts of

electricity in one location. They’re easy to find. Cost effective and coal has an abundant

supply. Power plants that use fossil fuels are very

efficient.

Disadvantages

Pollution is a major disadvantage of fossil fuels as they produce large amounts of carbon dioxide when used.

Also give off sulphur dioxide, which produces acid rain.

Pose several environmental issues, such as oil spills occurring, etc.

Mining coal leads to destruction of lots of land areas.

Future uses of fossil fuels

It is widely believed that the use of fossil fuels will decrease in the future, especially due to their limited supply. Researchers are looking for more environmentally-friendly and more efficient sources of alternative energy, which is energy derived from sources that do not use up natural resources or harm the environment.

Coal is far more plentiful than oil or gas, with around 112 years of coal remaining worldwide.

Gasoline is a transparent liquid that is used primarily as a fuel in internal combustion engines.

Gasoline is more volatile than diesel oil, Jet-A, or kerosene, mainly because of the base constituents.

Petroleum is a naturally flammable liquid that is found in geologic formations beneath the Earth's surface.

Petroleum is formed when large quantities of dead organisms, usually zooplankton and algae, are buried underneath sedimentary rock and experience intense heat and pressure.

Anaerobic digestion is a series of processes in which microorganisms break down biodegradable material in the absence of oxygen.

Using anaerobic digestion technologies can help to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases by replacing of fossil fuels
