more truth… it’s difficult starting a business;

it’s equally daunting to grow, hire people and

extend more capital. it takes faith, courage,

support and lots of intestinal fortitude…

if that’s not enough, what level of trust must be

involved for an entrepreneur to ask for help?

with fundamental changes in our business

model and foundational delivery mechanisms

in place, we began 2014 with an intent look at

our value proposition. Embracing changE,

it was clear that we needed to make it easier

for entrepreneurs to do business with us,

and we needed to havE fun again, as

you’ll see through the pages of this annual

report. when the dust settled, the result was

a clear understanding of our core values –

This year, we added three levels of membership

to allow more companies to connect to

the resources of the enterprise center.

we expanded our youth entrepreneurship

programs by teaching our first entrepreneurship

class at wT and formulating a plan for a

student enterprise center. we added lean

business processes and increased our overall

deal flow in startup companies. we continued

to graduate successful companies and

completed renovations on collaborative

office spaces.

NovemBerwT college of business moses business plan competition Youth engagement- ogallala commonswT enactus helps with entrepreneur week

Through partnerships with AAcAl pro program and the Amarillo High pro program, our staff had the privilege of working with five interns from Amarillo isd in 2014. These students are learning how to work together on major projects, developing new skills, enhancing their resumes and experiencing first-hand what a future could look like in their respective fields.

in the fall of 2013, we welcomed our veryfirst pro program intern, hernan ramos, from Amarillo High. Hernan was a seniorpro intern focusing on entrepreneurship.He worked with incubator director Jeff reid to develop a new Youth entrepreneurship handbook for the ogallala commons business plan competition. from this, Hernan was able to write his own business plan and learn how to structure a business and present financials for investment.

January 2014, we added our first AAcAl pro intern Whitney Warren to the team. A senior from Amarillo High, whitney studied graphic design at AAcAl. she created a beautiful Youth entrepreneurship Handbook from Jeff and Hernan’s hard work. The booklet was used at the 2014 Youth entrepreneurship fair for high school students.

The partnership went so well, we extended the opportunity to three more students: tiffany reynolds, a senior at caprock and graphic design student at AAcAl, timothy yerger, a senior at Amarillo High and graphic design student at AAcAl, and logan grimm, a senior at Amarillo High specializing in marketing. As advocates of the pro program, we have also helped place four interns with client companies in 2014.

The enterprise center also worked with four amazing west Texas A&m university interns during 2014: cara acciaioli, marketing intern. After graduating, cara also interned at bell Helicopter and now serves as marketing specialist at Textron, bell Helicopter’s parent company. bethany Wilcox, industry research intern. upon completion of her internship, bethany received an internship with the Amarillo chamber of commerce.laura ness, current marketing communications intern. laura is working on her degree in mass communications.brittny herbert, marketing communications intern. brittny joined the enterprise center staff as client services coordinator in August and graduated with her mass communications degree in december 2014.

2014 was a growth year for our internship program at the enterprise center.
