KIDZ WORSHIPChildren are always welcome in our services at First Baptist. However, we realize that kids learn better in environments that are designed for them. We offer childcare for ages birth through age 4 in our Nursery Suite (Room 100) and Kid’s Worship for Kindergarten through 4th grade in room 211/212. Visit the attendant at the Welcome Center for more details.
Student Pastor Search TeamPlease keep your Student Pastor Search Team in your prayers: Jane Boley, Lane Gamble, Jerry Gilliam, Bennett Greene, Jessica Shepard.
January Mission Project: Soup MonthPlease bring cans of soup for Impact Ministries. A collection basket is at the bell tower door and in the Narthex by welcome station. A cup of hot soup on a cold winters’ day may warm a person’s stomach and soul. It may be all they will have for the day. Our goal is 100 cans of soup – be a blessing to someone.
All State Children’s Choir Auditions for All State Children’s Choir are fast approaching! This is a wonderful program that teaches “scores” about choral performance with the opportunity for fellowship and travel. Any student in 4th-6th grades that would like more information about this program, please contact James Arcuri or Erin Westerfield.
Men’s BasketballAll guys invited to play basketball on Tuesdays at the Christian Life Center, 5:30-8pm. Questions? Contact Jordan Gary or Zack Kenady.
Church DirectoryWe are currently working on a photo directory! Please submit a family photo! Casual (appropriate) family photos are perfect! This directory upon completion will be available in print as well as online. You may email your photo to [email protected] (please provide correct names and birth dates). You may also bring a photo to the office. If you would like to have your picture taken or need to make any changes, you may do so on a Sunday, please see Angela in the Narthex beginning next week. As the directory is updated, the updates will be available immediately online through an app or from a computer. FYI, the only way you will have a log in is if we have your email address. The app information will be available as the completion of the directory gets closer!

a unique environment for students to grow spiritually. It is Discipleship Oriented with Host Homes & Small Groups. DNow Weekends point
students deeper into relationship with Jesus and deeper into relationship with their peers by
bringing the gospel into their lives.
2019 THEME: “Fight” | We all can agree that our world is broken by sin and things are definitely not right. It seems though as if the church has settled for this just accepting that this is the way things must be. Instead, we as a church must rise up the calling God has placed on our lives. That is what this study is about. Re-awakening our hearts to FIGHT for a lost and dying world around us so that they can come to know Jesus and make Him known.

If this is your first Sunday worshippingwith us, please take a few minutes tocomplete the Communication Card tear-off in order to help us to know you better. You may also use the same tear-off to share confidential prayer requests with the pastoral staff. When you complete it, place it in the offering plate when the offering is received. Thank you again for being here and may you be blessed as we worship together!
Tim Jernigan, Pastor
How do I become a Christian?Admit -Admit you are a sinner and turn
away from your sin to follow God’s new direction for your life. (Rom. 3 :23; Acts 3:19)
Believe -Trust in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, for eternal life. (Jn. 3:16)
Confess -Acknowledge Jesus as Lord and the Leader of your life. (Rom. 10:9,13)
Invite -Pray asking Jesus to forgive you and accept God’s free gift of salvation. (Rom. 6:23, 10:13, Jn. I:12)
How may I join?By Baptism - When you have already
personally committed your life to Jesus Christ, but have not yet been baptized by immersion as a public symbol of your faith.
By Transfer - When you are a member of another Baptist Church.
By Statement - When you are a member of a church of another denomination of like faith and practice, and have been baptized by immersion as a public symbol of your faith.
When do I join?Near the close of the service, during the invitation, go forward to the minister and tell him of your decision. We strongly encourage a meeting with one of the ministerial staff prior to this decision. A minister will meet with you to help you understand your decision, answer any questions, pray with you and secure the information necessary for our records. Usually this takes just a few minutes. New members are presented and welcomed to the church.
I still have some questions. You are more than welcome to call, 270-886-1216 or fill out the Communication Card and place it in the offering plate.
