WCF provides cocoa farmers with the support they need to grow more quality cocoa and socially and economically strengthen their communities. WCF’s members include cocoa and chocolate manufacturers, processors, supply chain managers, and other companies worldwide, representing more than 80 percent of the global cocoa market. WCF’s programs benefit farmers and their communities in cocoa-growing regions of Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Americas. For more information, visit www.worldcocoafoundation.org. Internship Summary: WCF seeks a communications and outreach intern for the Fall term (September – December) interested in developing their writing, editing, social media management, research and event management skills. Strong attention to detail, interest in non-profit communications, social media strategy, and a focus on international development would greatly benefit this intern as they conduct research tasks and projects, assist in content generation, and assist in day-to-day program and strategy activities. Internship Details: This internship is based in Washington, DC. The Communications Internship is intended to further the intern’s educational goals in communications and sustainability. As such, this internship does not provide a stipend and requires an intern earn academic credit; intern must ensure he/she is eligible for a credit-based internship through school before applying. WCF expects that to reach the internship’s objectives, between 25 and 40 hours per week will be needed over the September through December time frame. Interns are responsible for arranging their own accommodation in the Washington area, if applicable, and all work- related transportation, as well as other personal needs. Internship Requirements: • Background in Communications, marketing, social media, event management, international development, sustainability, corporate social responsibility, or related field preferred • Strong writing skills • Detail oriented • International development research experience a plus
