Class News

Buttercup – Nursery

The Buttercups have been to Magicland this week, and have enjoyed pretending to be wizards, witches and various Mr Men and Little Miss characters from our focus story. We have also talked about people that are special to us and made some very sparkly Valentines cards. Owl & Robin Class –Year R We have been looking at a range of mini beasts, which we will continue to do next term as part of our topic including learning about other creatures such as caterpillars and frogs.

Swift & Sparrow Class – Year 3 We have been preparing for a performance in assembly of Bob Marley’s Three Little Birds, where we have been developing our skills in singing and playing, improvising and composing with the glockenspiels. We have really enjoyed this project. Ask your child to sing it to you! Osprey & Heron Class – Year 4

In year 4 today, we have been focussing on activities related to the I ❤️ U

day for Northamptonshire Mental Health Awareness day. Kestrel & Kingfisher Class – Year 5 In Year 5 this week, the children have continued their learning on 'decimals' and explored the link with Fractions. In English, the children have begun to plan their adventure stories inspired by Kensukes Kingdom. Hawk & Eagle Class – Year 6 Year Six are getting into the drama of Goodnight Mister Tom in our English lessons. Will Mister Tom find Willie? Will Willie be OK? We will need to read on to find out more. Hopefully the missing persons reports we created in English will help Mister Tom in his quest to find young William Beech. Please do ask us all about the text. In maths we have been learning the language of ratio using images- we are ready to explain how it works! Our theme work has moved on to look at examples of propaganda during World War II and even have a go at creating our own.

Swan & Dove Class – Year 2 This week Year 2 pupils were learning about healthy living and a balanced diet. We were sorting different foods into groups and learnt that we need to exercise regularly, eat healthily and have a happy attitude.

Lark & Rook Class – Year 1 This week, Year 1 have been busy preparing for our class assembly. Last week we enjoyed making bread rolls following our English work on "The Little Red Hen". We used this experience to write instructions and a recount.
