Dear colleagues

The team of Organising committee extends a warm invitation to participate in the workshop and

conference of NZMBICON 2014, organised by Department of Biochemistry, GGS Medical

College, Faridkot,Punjab. As deadly diseases are daring to destroy the precious lives, it’s our

duty to make the initial step to prevent these life threatening diseases by early diagnosis of the

disease more precisely and accurately, so let’s gather to put our efforts to move one step ahead in

this field. Therefore you all are cordially invited to put forth your brilliant views in the

forthcoming event NZMBICON 2014.

The focus of the workshop will be on Gel documentation, Protein Electrophoresis, and

Immunotyping. The workshop aims at updating the knowledge on analyzing gene expression by

PCR and Gel Documentation, Capillary Electrophoresis and its role in various gammopathies

and associated disorders through lectures and live demonstrations by the experts.

As per current scenario, the role of Biochemistry has immensely increased not only at the

diagnostic level, but also at the gene level to counteract these deadly diseases so lets’ join hands

to conquer the field of diseases which are still a mystery.

The conference will give you an opportunity to visit the holy city of Faridkot blessed by the great

Sufi Saint Baba Sheikh Farid Ji. The city of Faridkot bears his names. According to the legend,

Saint Farid stopped in this city, then named Mokhalpur, and sat in seclusion for forty days near

the fort of King Mokhal. The King was said to be so impressed by his presence that he named the

city after his name. The festival Baba Sheikh FaridAgmanPurabMela is celebrated in September

each year, commemorating his arrival in this city.

Abstracts are invited for oral /poster presentations under the categories of Metabolic

biomarkers, Markers for Endocrinology, Reproduction, Free radicals, Nutrition, Enzymology,

Immunology., Organ function test, Cardiac markers, Cancer markers, Point of care testing,

Geriatric Biochemistry, Tools in genomics and proteomics, Quality Assurance and accreditation

,Automation, Instrumentation and Miscellaneous.

Guidelines

� Covering letter should mention the mode of presentation along with its category.

Format for Abstract

� Title (bold), Author’s name, institute‘s name

� Abstract should be structured including Introduction; Aims and Objectives;

Methodology; Results and Conclusions

� Standard abbreviations may be used

� Maximum words 250; Font-Times New Roman with double spacing with 12 font size.

� Should be saved in Microsoft word

� Abstracts should be sent by email at biochemggsfdk@gmail.com

� 7 minutes will be allowed for oral presentation and 3 minutes for discussion

Size of the poster

� Should be upto 48”x36”.

� Page Layout should be Portrait.

� Font should be Times New Roman with double spacing.

Projector facilities will be provided
