Plan

ReJoin (con’t)ReJoin is a semester-long thesis research investigation of the role of the architect from design through full-scale production, outputted through the design and construction of a recursive-based growth system and compound wood joinery. The essential components of the fabrication involved the use of a 5-axis CNC router, as well as the incredibly important dialogue between the digital and physical limitations.

cameronjstewart.com THE ANN ARBOR INTERLOCKING HOUSING TOWER

A practical solution to housing in downtown Ann Arbor, Michigan that addresses on-site conditions, main-tains a public-friendly ground level, and supplies a uniquely interlock-ing unit layout in it’s 180 ft. tower.

cameronjstewart.com // projects // EPHEMERAL PERFORMANCE TERRACE

Located at the juxtaposition of multiple nodes of public transportation, the ephemeral performance terrace can be engaged in either the short or long-term realm. It acts as both a destination for entertainment or simply a brief resting point for pedestrians awaiting a bus or train.

cameronjstewart.com XL:TIMXL:TIM is a technology-interfaced module for living that harnesses the advantages of a whole room’s worth of furniture. Digitally modeled to extreme precision, the final piece was produced and finished at full-scale in a thor-ough hands-on approach to the production of a project from conception to final product.

cameronjstewart.com //// FLOCKING AND SPONTANEOUS COLLECTIVE BEHAVIORAn early delve into the potentials of the para-metric modeling plug-in Grasshopper for Rhino 4.0, the project exam-ines the profoundly in-teresting dynamics of “flocking” and aims to simulate an environ-ment that embodies the principles of a flock of birds or school of fish, outputted through both digital and physical models.

SIDE SADDLE: PARALLEL PLEAT PLASTIC cameronjstewart.com // projectsIn a research investigation of folding thin-guage PETG plas-tic using digital fabrication techniques, SIDE SADDLE focuses on the potential outcomes of parallel-pleated modules and their ability to successfully predict a doubly-curved surface.
