Guided by goodness, loyalty, faith, and fun March 2017 Welcome to the month of March. I hope everyone had a great time at the Mardi Gras Party last month. Many people look forward to the month of March since Spring is near. Spring officially arrives on Monday, March 20 th at 6:29 A.M. EDT and ends on Tuesday, June 20 th . March is noted for being one of the windiest months out of the year. An old proverb says, “March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb.” The flower for the month of March is the Daffodil, which is known for hope. The birthstone for the month of March is Aquamarine, which symbolizes bravery and courage. The two birth signs for the month of March are: Pisces and Aries. A very well-known day in the month of March is Saint Patrick’s Day. Many people around the world celebrate this holiday for it being cultural and religious. Saint Patrick’s Day may also be known as Feast of Saint Patrick. Saint Patrick’s Day was made an official Christian Feast Day during the early 17 th century. Many places around the world have parades and festivals, where people drink alcohol and eat corned beef and cabbage. The Shamrock is noted for being an Irish symbol and the three leaf shamrock explained the Holy Trinity to Irish Pagans. Savanna, our Bingo bestie, changed her schedule with us and will now be coming in every Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. Residents are encouraged to play Bingo and to win some awesome prizes. This activity is sponsored by Bring’s Broadway Chapel and is much appreciated by the residents. As you may have seen, we now have a new television in the TV room. Residents will be able to watch movies and have popcorn on Fridays, starting in the month of February. Any suggestions on movies should be given to the Activity Department in advance, which allows time to find the movie. The Manhattan Dolls gave a terrific performance and spent a little time to meet and talk with our great residents.
The New York inspired menu was enjoyed as well and included pizza, Coney dogs and New York style cheesecake YUM!!
