The Heating and hot water system is provided by a communal Biomass boiler system located on site. Biomass is an energy efficient, sustainable low carbon fuel made up of biological material from renewable living organisms. Biomass is a carbon lean fuel producing a fraction of the carbon emissions of other fossil fuels such as gas and offers lower costs compared to other fuels.

The Village 135 development has been designed to be energy efficient and environmentally friendly.

Heating to each apartment will be provided by normal modern radiators with thermostatic controls which will allow residents to control their own temperature. Instant hot water is also provided to each apartment. Each apartment is individually metered to allow residents to monitor their own energy usage and costs.
