Conconully, WA. 98819
From the Keg n Cue in Monroe without
stopping should take about 4 hours.
From the Bulldog Tavern in Spokane
without stopping should take about 3
hours & 15 minutes.
Keep in mind stopping for food or pee
breaks will add time to this and old
people may need more pee breaks.
Do you have a key?
Can’t get in without a key.
Directions: As you come into Conconully
Come to the first stop sign which is at
the edge of the state park & turn
right. The cabin is 6/10s of a mile from
that intersection on the Left. You can
park just off the road above the shed.
About 4 cars. If no snow or don’t
expect any snow you can park in back of
the cabin. When you drive out on the
steep gravel driveway please go slow so
you don’t tear up the driveway.
Here is what you will need to do both
on arriving and leaving.
The pump is unplugged whenever we
will not be at the cabin.
The pump is located at the end of
the storage shed.
The electrical box is under the
bucket.
It is the white cord.
The black cord is the light that is
down in the well and we need to have
it on at all times.
Just plug in the white cord and
replace the bucket.
Be very careful when putting on the
bucket because we have unplugged
things when we weren’t careful.
You now have water.
We don’t usually drink the well
water but for cleaning it works fine.
The water is very hard and it has
stained the toilet as you will see.
Shouldn’t do the same to your teeth
so don’t worry. We use bottled
water to cook & make coffee.
Now go inside to the hot water tank.
Getting the pump
up and running
Opening the Cabin
Hi good to see you again.
You can also get the heaters turned up
if you haven’t done so yet.
Place that small space heater on the
old stove. (Yes we don’t use the old
stove for now)
Heaters are in the back bed room and
in the front room.
The little heater is also the one we
use for the enclosed porch.
Now for the hot water tank
Turn the Blue valve on that is on the
left If you are going to use the
shower the valve is in the shower
room. Only need to turn it on if you
want to use the shower.
Questions?
Better not be because the only cell
service is bad but if you lay your
phone ion the Kitchen window sill that
looks out on the lake it might work or
go down by Shady Pines. The land
phone works but only for local calls.
Sorry.
Phone number is 509-422-4519
Now to bleed the lines.
This is important, yes turn the page
Hot Water Tank
After plugging in the well and
turning on the water to the rest of
the cabin at the hot water tank go
to the front of the cabin (down
the steps past the wood down on
the lake side) and open the faucets
till clean water is coming out. The
faucets are Blue for cold water
and Red for hot water
Now close them.
Now back inside and open up the
bath room sink till it stops spiting
( this is taking the air out of the
lines) and flush the toilet and then
do the same with the kitchen sink.
If you hear water running it is fill-
ing the hot water tank or someone
forgot to close the faucets in the
shower when leaving last time.
Yes the next page.
Yes the one after this one
Bleeding the line
to get the Air out
The fuse box is in the back bedroom
on the back wall.
We unscrew the fuse and leave the re-
frigerator door open so it doesn’t get
that nice smell going. Make sure you
don’t leave anything in the
refrigerator. You might think the next
person will want it but by the time
they get there it might have taken on
a different form.
The fuse for the Refer is the one on
the far left. We have marked it as
“Refer”.
Turning on the power to the Hot
Water tank
Make sure the tank is full first.
If you go to the tank and open the pop
off valve and water comes out it’s full.
Make sure the big switch to the right
is on and leave it on. It is for the hot
water tank and we drain the Hot water
tank during the winter.
Not that hard was it?

&

The two stand up heaters. (They heat oil that
is inside the heaters and help a lot to keep
the chill off)
We keep them on low when no one is
staying at the cabin.
When you get there turn them up high until
you get a fire going. after you get to a
comfortable temperature move the control
back until you hear it click and that should
help keep it at that temperature
The firewood is just off the front door under
that tarp.
There is an axe or two behind the old stove if
you need to cut some kindling or smaller wood
to help start the fire.
Paper is on the right side of the fireplace
You can stack some wood behind the screen
door on the side porch
Also bring in a few chunks of wood and put in
the wood container on the right side of the
fireplace.
Damper it down as needed with the two
damper on each side of the fireplace. Those
are the small chrome handles on the upper
sides.
Down is open and up is dampening it down.
Never can keep it going till morning so might
want to leave the heaters on low
until morning.
Use the over head fan to distribute the heat
Using the Heaters
and Fireplace
During the winter you can’t open the
screen door out on to the deck
before you remove that big clumsy
thing against it.
This is there because when the snow
is heavy it slides off the roof and
onto the deck. We put this pallet
that has metal roofing on it against
the screen door. If not the weight
of the snow will push the door in.
Maybe
But we don’t want to take any
chances.
Take if off when you get there and
please put it back on when you leave
That strange thing
against the front
screen door out on
the Deck
We have Dish Network. No special channels but enough to get local and
some movies.
There are two controls
One for the TV
One for the Dish
Turn the TV on and then turn the volume up with the TV or the TV con-
trol. Make sure it is on Channel 3. That is all you will need the TV con-
trol for.
Turn the Dish on.
You will turn the channels and work the volume with this control.
You can punch in the numbers to go directly to a channel or move up the
channel list.
Push the Guide and it will show you what is playing.
We have a Channel guide printed with some of the usual channels listed.
It should be on top of the Dish receiver.
There is also a VCR.
Hopefully we will have a DVD soon.

per Towels
The phone (509-422-4519) at the cabin can call 800 numbers, 911 and also lo-
cal calls but not long distance. Need a phone card or collect calls. You can re-
ceive calls.
Cell phones work down by the Shady Pines resort Also you can connect to the
internet using their Wi-Fi but they don't like people using it so you might
have to be quick. It isn't Password protected.
Ask at the Sit n Bull. They may know of someone that has WI-FI you can use.
Sometimes or most times you can get your cell phone to work if you set it in
the kitchen window sill above the sink and leave it there.
Some can get their cell phones to work if you go out on the deck and at the
outside right corner lay your cell phone on the railing and after a minute or so
you might pick up some bars to make a call.
Phone and Internet
Garbage and Recycle
Garbage can is on the side porch. It may still be up at the road from the
last people who put it out. Bring down to the porch please
Put the Garbage can by the road for pickup when leaving. Make sure
bungee cord is holding down the lid.
Recycling for now is only aluminum cans. Use the other can on the porch
for those but please use the crusher on the post first to crush the cans.
Pots Pans Dishes and Utensils
They are there to use just make sure they are clean when you leave.
There is:
Microwave, Coffee maker, Toaster
Games in the cabinet under the TV
The dice game (That box with 9 numbers on it) Rules are on the
bottom of the game. (Fun Game for all ages)
Roll dice and turn over numbers that add up to your roll. Keep
rolling till you can’t use all the numbers and what is left is
your number. Lowest number wins. (place a small bet)
The shower works just fine.
If you put the little space heater on the
stand that is in the shower room in back
of the shower and turn it on for a few
minutes it gets nice and warm in the
shower room.
Remember to turn on the Blue water
value on that is in the back of the
shower.
You can leave it on until you leave the
cabin. It is on the closing procedure.
Important: You are on a well that doesn’t
have unlimited water so make your
shower short please. If you do run out of
water just shut the shower off and wait
for a while before you run the water
again.
Sing or something, no better not do
something just sing until the water
comes back up in the well. Won’t take
long. Maybe just one short song.
Shower
We hang all the keys that you might
need on the antlers on the wall that is on
the enclosed porch.
Please put them back as you use them.
Keys might be on the nail by the Door to
the porch.
Keys are here
