Getting the Vote!

● May 21, 1919○ James R. Mann proposed to the House to

approve the 19TH Amendment ● June 4,1919

○ Senate passed the Amendment○ Sent to states for ratification

● BY March, 1920 THIRTY-FIVE States Ratified It○ tENNESSEE TIPS THE BALANCE

● 19th Amendment ratified (AUGUST 1920) granting voting rights to women○ About 70 years, after Seneca Falls Convention

● Boys divide yourselves into two teams (3 boys in each)● Each boy will have to complete 1 obstacle (Each team must complete 3

obstacles)○ Changing a babies diaper○ Tie/Braiding a woman's hair○ Sewing a button

● Once each is complete they will have to present their work to the girls● After the girls have seen all the work, they will vote for the best team

and the best “lady of the house”(best single competitor)
