PARENT CHARTER

1) Let the coach do their job: parents offering alternative advice will only confuse the players.

2) Please avoid criticising a player for making a mistake — mistakes are part of learning.

3) Please do not enter the changing room or the players’ area unless invited to do so by a member of the management team.

4) Matters relating to team tactics are the sole responsibility of the coach and team captain. They should not be publicly criticised by players, parents or non-participants.

5) The batting order will be decided by the coach, manager and captain, where appropriate, no one else.

6) Judgements of players’ performances are the prerogative of the selectors. Shows of public disapproval by parents and spectators should not occur.

7) Players, parents and spectators must accept without question decisions made by selectors and the umpires during the course of the game.

8) ALL matters relating to team and individual discipline on and off the field are the responsibility of the selectors, coaches and managers.

9) In the case of a parent or player being involved in an incident related to the above or in any other matter connected with the sportsmanlike conduct of the game, the parent may be asked not to attend further training or match play events.

10) Any concerns or complaints should be brought to the attention of the age group coach or should follow our grievance and welfare procedure if appropriate.

11) Selection into a summer squad does not guarantee that a player will play in every game, or play a full part in every game.
