Woden Bus Interchange –

Progress report

Woden Valley Community Council

Wednesday 6 May 2015

Purpose

• Discussions about the interchange began three years ago.

• Commercial conditions for retail expansion have been

challenging and while Westfield has prepared a Development

Application, the DA has not been publicly notified.

• Over the past 12 months, the Territory has completed

demolition works aimed at:

- Creating opportunities to modernise the area;

- Creating lines of sight between Bradley Street and the

interchange; and

- Adopting principles for crime prevention through

environmental design.

• In 2015-16, lines of sight between the Town Square and the bus

interchange are proposed to be improved with the demolition of

the western end of the interchange and the construction of stairs

and public lift.
