Fix 2013 Toyota 4runner Electrical Problems with TIS Techstream Car model and year: 2013 Toyota 4runner, Car has 63,000 miles so apparently is out of the 60,000 drivetrain warranty. Symptom: Check Engine Light, Trac Off Light and Crawl Control Light all came on at once on my 2013 Trail. Toyota diagnostic tool used: Toyota TIS Techstream with 16pin cable for $26.99, http://www.wobd2.com/wholesale/mini-vci-for-toyota-tis- techstream-v500028-single-cable-free-shipping-1347.html I installed it and it *works* exactly the same as my much more expensive mongoose. Trouble code (DTC) list:I get a copy of the TIS Techstream health check data that shows all the DTCs listed for you to review.
Issue:I have a leaking valve
Solution:The next is for further diagnosis/repair.Heads have to come off to fix this and Toyota might not cover it. They are opening up a new case with Toyota because apparently this is not related to the fuel pump problem that occurred in the past. The dealer is going to talk with the Toyota rep today or tomorrow and discuss to see if they are going to do a good will warranty. Man I hope so because I am sure pulling the heads and fixing the issue is not cheap...
