Congratulations to NLES & Ms. Doyle’s 3rd grade 4-H Explorers! They collected the most food in the Fill the Trolley Food Drive for Helping Hands! Green Turtle Bay picked up and delivered 2,687 lbs of food! The Village Market donated a Pizza Party to Ms. Doyle’s Class. Ms. Hardin’s class built a time capsule. Ms. Harris’ class is already gearing up for Speeches and Demonstrations! At SLES, the clubs have been working on Leadership skills and club goals. They learned about the bene- fits of fruits for the body. After School Clubs! Tech Wizards will be closing out the year on January 23rd. We will be “rebooting” with a Lego Robotics Club during after- school activities at SLES and at NLES. Schedule will be released. Congratulations to NLES & Ms. Doyle’s

3rd grade 4-H Explorers! They collected

the most food in the Fill the Trolley Food

Drive for Helping Hands! Green Turtle Bay

picked up and delivered 2,687 lbs of food!

The Village Market donated a Pizza Party

to Ms. Doyle’s Class. Ms. Hardin’s class

built a time capsule. Ms. Harris’ class is

What is 4-H?

4-H is a group of young peo-

zenship and life skills. 4-H is

the youth part of the Cooper-

ative Extension Service, which is part of

the University of Kentucky College of Agri-

culture. In 4-H, youth learn through a vari-

ety of projects, events, and activities.

4-H has been helping youth and adults

learn, grow and work together in Ken-

Special Interest Clubs

Livingston County has several special interest clubs that meet during the year!

Rough Riders 4-H Horse Club meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 5:30 pm at the

Extension Office. You do not need to own a horse to be a member. The club learns

about horse breeds, anatomy, equine health, horse tack and much more. They com-

pete in horse judging and horse knowledge bowl. Horse camp offers summer fun for

you and your horse. Jan 10, Jan– D7 Horse Contests at Murray, Feb 14, Mar 4, Apr 11,

May 9

Animal Science Club meets the 2nd Friday of each month at 4:30 pm at the Extension

Office. Amanda Brasher teaches about all types of livestock in a fun and interactive

way. If you like animals, this is the club for you! Join us on Jan 13, Feb 10, Mar 10, Apr

14, May 12, Jun 9, July 14, Aug 11, Sep 8!

CHOPPED Cooking Club– this club will meet February 11th, April 8th and June 24th at

the Extension Office from 11am-1pm. Learn different cooking techniques, have fun

with friends and learn about different foods. Another adult volunteer is needed in or-

der to meet more often.

Lego Robotics Club– This Club will start meeting in March as an afterschool activity

at North and South Livingston Elementary. Space is limited. Please call the office to

join this club.

Archery Club– Coach Wesley Shuecraft is offering 4-H Archery with the afterschool

program. Be sure to get registered with Coach Wesley to be able to compete in 4-H Ar-

chery. In April, he will begin meeting at the Fairgrounds. Call the office to receive a

meeting notice.

Trap Club (shotgun & clays) – Coach Oneal will be meeting for the new 4-H year very

soon. Call the office to be place on the mailing list so you will know about all the

meetings coming up.

Sewing Club– Call if interested in joining the sewing club

Craft Club– Call if interested in joining the crafters club
