It is a water based total body strengthening and relaxation progression that is beneficial to improve movement efficiency of those with chronic pain, arthritis, osteoporosis, fi- bromyalgia, balance defects, neu- rological conditions and mental health conditions as well as a wide range of chronic health conditions not previously mentioned. Ai Chi involves very slow and controlled movements focusing on our move- ment patterns and breathing tech- niques. When: Wednesdays 7.00pm & Fri- days 10.30am Core Wellness Core Wellness consists of specific exercises which have evolved from traditional Pilates with the input of health professions and evidenced based research into a rehabilitation tool for injury management and functional enhancement. Your Community Centre The improvements to the Mechanics’ Institute Reserve (MIR) Building have benefited by a substantial upgrade with a generous grant from the Moorabool Shire Council. This included new air con-ditioners to replace the many non-oper-ational units and the servicing of the others. The ambience has been greatly en-hanced by a new colour scheme and to-tal repaint for the Hall and all of the in-terior front section of the Building. The renovation has also been enriched by the new, full-glass sliding doors to the entrance. The safety strip on these doors was designed by Rodney Browne and it celebrates Ballan’s Arboretum Project and the vast collection of beau-tiful trees in the town. The Committee of Management were also pleased to collaborate with APM – Employment Consultant - Disability Em-ployment Services to further the im-provements. This saw the preparation and painting of the walls and floors of the new Art Gallery/Studio in addition to the Hall furniture storeroom, stage stairwell and hallway. The stage wings were also repaired and painted. Continuing these essential improve-ments have brought this very big pro-ject closer to completion. The Commu-nity Centre is enriched by a fresh, invit-ing ambiance. Ballan Community House is a Chamber of Commerce Award winning, Not-For-Profit Community Association.

Melbourne Cup comes to Ballan The Melbourne Cup will begin its tour around Australasia on July 1 visiting Ballan on Wednesday 11 October. The Ballan Jockey Club will provide the com-munity with the opportunity to come together and share the experience and the magic of the Melbourne Cup during its time here in Ballan. Further details will be released in coming months.
