    PSDI is excited about our new challenges and isdetermined to get our PEP programs up and runningas soon as possible. We want you to eel a part o ournew projects and hope that you will write or call withquestions that you would like to have answered aboutPEP, our work, progress and anything else that will helpyou have a bigger picture o what we do and how weredoing. Learning about the Bangladeshi people, theirculture and amilies helps to understand that we are allone people sharing the same dreams and aspirations.

    This day recalls the sacrice Allah asks o Ibrahim tosacrice his only son. Ibrahim prepares the sacrice butAllah sends an angel to stop him and instead he oersan animal. On this day, all who can aord to do so buy a

    large animal and divide the meat three ways. One thirdthey keep or their amily, one third they give to poorrelatives and one third they give to other poor. It is a

    great day when all, rich and poor, can have meat.

    New ChalleNges for a New year

    Celebratingthefirstanniversaryof PeP (Poverty eradiCation Program), PsdisnePartnerPrograminrural bangladesh, onehundredsuPPortersandguestsgatheredinlouistolearnmoreaboutbangladesh, thenewPeP Programs, tasteauthentiC banglfoodanddrinkandenjoytheethniCmusiCanddanCingof bollywood shuffle. itwas

    ningfilledwithgoodConversation , informationandgreatgenerosity.

    Guests were able to see large posters o each o the programs that PSDI has implemin the past and hopes to reintroduce through PEP in the coming years. In addition toporting the critical emergency needs o this new population, PSDI has successully la

    the Adopt A School program, a two-year commitment that ensures that a school o 3poor students successully completes the required preparation to qualiy or admittanthe governments school system in the third grade.

    A pledge o 28 two-year Adopt A Schools made the evening exceptional and highlighted the importaeducating a new generation to the possibilities o the 21st century.
