Webb the capability of offering the complete Crane package for corrosion–resistant plastic–lined pipe, fittings, and valves. The economical alternative that combines the mechanical strength of steel with the chemical resistance of an engineered plastic. Why live with the constant maintenance and replacement of inexpensive materials or the outrageous price for alloy piping?

Resistant to permeation, Xomox® XLD offers safety and extended product life. Xomox® XLD process butterfly valves have robust liners: The wall thickness in the flow area is a minimum of 3 mm (PFA) and 4 mm (PTFE), offering a high level of operational safety, as media permeation is considerably slower compared to thin-walled standard liners. This feature allows increased up-time and enables a longer effective product life – which translates into a safety and a cost advantage. The integrity of the lining is reaffirmed by subjecting it to a 20,000 Volt electrical defect detection test. Xomox®XLD butterfly valve features lower (breakaway) torque compared to other products currently available in the market.

Control FeaturesAll EW Series pumps come equipped with pulse and stop input/output control.Feed Accuracy: Powered by the E-Class 360 Stroke-Per-Minute technology, the EW has an incredible adjustment range of 1800:1 ensuring precise feed control for any application.Pulse Output: The EW pump is capable of sending a pulse out synchronous with pump operation.Stop Input/Output: A stop input contact will stop the pump operation and close a stop output contact for alarm or remote notification. Torque-Rite allows you to control compression and expansion while maintaining constant inch/pounds force insuring a perfect surface ID when used with a perfect surface gasket. Torque-Rite eliminates the problems associated with over- or under-tightening a gasket which can lead to an unsanitary system. Over-tightening of a clamp can tear or damage a gasket and can also cause a damming effect inside the pipeline. A torn or extruded gasket can hold soil and bacteria. Under-tightening leaves an undesirable concave area at the gasket allowing soil and bacteria to become entrapped. Both conditions should be avoided in a sanitary system. The solution: the Torque-Rite system.

Torque-Rite and Perfect Surface Gasket eliminates the concerns associated with over- and under tightening a sanitary gasket. When tightened, the Torque-Rite’s self-limiting internal mechanism will make an audible “click” signaling the user they have reached proper inch/pounds force. If further tightening is attempted, there will be more “clicks” but there will be no additional application of force on the gasket. By maintaining constant force on a perfect surface gasket with the Torque-Rite, gasket ID is maintained lowering bacterial count and enhancing product integrity. Available in 30,40 50, 60 # options. Rich Fredette, URELL Technical Products Group Division, conducted a sales call to Robert Morse, the Sodexo Facility Manager at Colby Sawyer College in New London, NH. Earlier that morning, a heating circulator in a dorm building had failed. The three-piece pump had already been rebuilt several times before, and now parts were being ordered to repair it once again. Rich and F.W. Webb offered a better solution.

The HVAC Supervisor received a quote for the parts to rebuild the pump which totaled more than $1,000. It was a job that he was not looking forward to doing. Rich cross-referenced a Grundfos Versaflo®

wet-rotor circulator that is maintenance free and consumes less energy. Working with the F.W. Webb branch in Lebanon, NH, Colby Sawyer was able to replace the pump with a brand new Grundfos Versaflo® for significantly less than the cost of the parts alone, and saved the labor to rebuild the old pump as well. The mechanics were impressed that the Grundfos Versaflo® port-to-port flange dimensions were an exact fit to the old pump, making installation a breeze.

After installing the Grundfos Versaflo®, a power meter was connected to quantify energy savings. After analyzing power consumption, it was determined that Versaflo used 50% less energy than the existing pump. According to Grundfos, almost all circulators are oversized. With 3 speeds, the Versaflo allows the technician to easily adjust the pump to the necessary head and flow. When you slow the pump down, energy consumption is reduced.

Deburring toolS For PlaStic05303 (5301PDCOMBO)The Reed Power Drive rotates the pipe while cutting, threading, or reaming operations are performed on up to 2” diameter pipe and bolt. WHY REED? Flat top of housing is ideal for placing tools. Power drive includes long-lasting HSS dies, not alloy dies. Also, Reed’s Power Drives are approved to the latest USA and CSA Canadian standards!

Reed Oilers effectively deliver threading oil to piping work. The gun-and-trigger ap-proach makes it easy to pump oil directly on the work. The rugged and completely portable Reed OLBUCKT1 (#06150) comes with both a metal bucket and a metal drip pan/chip tray. The system double-filters and recirculates oil as the chip tray catches the big waste pieces and the filter strains out any small particles. OLBUCKT1 features a sturdy nozzle made from turned aluminum. This system ships with one gallon of Reed Thread-guard dark cutting oil (#06120). Additionally, the Reed OL-BUCKT1 pro-vides a much-requested 60” (1524 mm) hose.

Reed offers deburring tools for plastic pipe. DEB2 deburrs inner and outer edges of PVC, CPVC, ABS, PP, and PE pipe through 2” diameter. Made from steel, the cone design allows it to be used on even the smallest pipe, including 1/8” diameter. DEB4 deburrs fast – one easy revolution produces a 3/32” 15° chamfer in seconds. This aluminum die-cast deburring tool features a hardened steel blade that is reversible for two cutting edges and sharpenable. DEB4 fits comfortably in one’s hand and creates a smooth chamfered pipe end so solvent spreads evenly as pipe is joined. Deburrs six pipe sizes: 1¼” – 4”. Used on PVC, CPVC, ABS.
