    For eight months advertising videos, billboards, magazine articles, and the corporate signatures of Winners employees have sparkled with a bright orange Winner logo that signifies our 20th anniver-sary. All of Ukraine has heard about this landmark and knows that this year Winner is celebrating its 20th birthday.

    Historically, Winners anniversary has been tightly connected with our countrys independence. We grew and developed together and our destinies are tightly intertwined.

    Despite all its ups and downs in the first two dec-ades of Ukraines independence, the success of our country is only a matter of time and experience.

    Henry Ford said: Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at 20 or 80. Anyone who keeps learning

    stays young. Twenty, then, is just the beginning. We are confident as we enter our third decade with a great desire to grow, develop, and create a better future.

    We have excellent brands with long history and image, we constantly work over development and

    improvement and together with hard work and pro-fessional team it will lead us to success.

    Heres a brief flashback to our history: On May 14, 1992 Bohdan Kulchyckyj ar-

    rived in Ukraine to establish Winner in the country;

    On October 3, 1992 the statutory document for establishing the Winner Ford Kyiv joint enterprise was signed;

    On November 19, 1992 the Winner Ford Kyiv joint enterprise received its registration certificate;

    On November 24, 1994 Winner Imports Ukraine, Ltd. received its registration certifi-cate.

    In 2012 Winner Imports marked its twentieth year of doing business in Ukraine. In what ways was this 20th year memorable? What do you consider the main component of the companys success?

    Strictly speaking, 2012 wasnt different from the previous year or future years. Today, however, we can look back and, by looking into the mirror of history, see how far weve come. And thats where we truly have something to be proud of.

    Twenty years ago two foreigners Mr. Hynansky, the owner of the business, and I came to Ukraine to start a car retail business in this new country. Our knowledge of doing business in this country was zero, but we had an immense respect for the Ukrainian people and an unstoppable desire to work exactly here. Over 20 years Winner has gained 63 dealers,

    sold over 75.000 cars, built its own distribution center and become one of the largest car importers in Ukraine.

    Its not fair to analyze just the twentieth year alone. You have to look at what weve done over the course of all these years in general. The most important thing is the actual fact of what weve built. The most precious thing is the principles that we adhered to 20 years ago and that havent changed to this day. And thats worth 20 years of work.

    A company doesnt exist without its personnel, so the main component of its success is, I believe, transparency and respect for our staff members. We value the workers who develop our business and we do everything we can so that they respect the company. Winner Imports is a transparent, honest, and law-abiding company, and thats what brought us success.

    FORBES UKRAINE NAMES WINNER ONE OF THE TOP HUNDRED LARGEST COMPANIES

    In October of this year Forbes Ukraine published its rating of the Top-200 largest companies in the country, based on 2011 earnings. Winner Imports Ukraine has taken 92nd place on the list, with earnings amounting to UAH 3.223 million, 62% higher than in 2010.

    As Bohdan Kulchyckyj, General Director of Winner Imports Ukraine, announced last year, Porsche increased its import quota for Ukraine, leading to sales of the brand rising more than 1.5 times, to 503 cars. Demand, however, still outstrips supply. We would have sold more, but there are limitations from the manufacturer, says Mr. Bohdan. What else has helped to increase sales? The Ford cars that the company has imported since 1992.

    FIRST PLACE GOES TO WINNER! THE RESULTS OF THE GVARDIA 500: THE RICHEST COMPANIES IN UKRAINE 2012 RATING According to the results of the recent GVardia 500: The Richest Companies in Ukraine 2012 rating, Winner Imports Ukraine has taken first place among car importers and 89th place in the general rating among the 500 largest companies in Ukraine.

    Winner Imports Ukraine rose from 146th place in last years rating to 89th place in the general rating by increasing its net effective income by almost 60%, to UAH 4.355.398 thousand.

    FORD NEWS Ford Motor Company is targeting industry-leading product freshness in Europe with a major acceleration of new cars and CVs, including several new models on display at the Paris Motor Show, including the new Mondeo, Fiesta, EcoSport and Tourneo Connect.

    Ford said by 2017 it will have refreshed its European line-up nearly twice over by volume, delivering what it expects will be Europes freshest and most up-to-date

    passenger car lineup. For commercial vehicles in the same period, Ford will offer an all-new or significantly refreshed lineup 1.3 times, that again is significantly greater than any competitor.

    We are in the early stages of what is perhaps the most aggressive product rollout ever for Ford of Europe, said Stephen Odell, chairman and CEO, Ford of Europe. The new products in our showrooms and on display in Paris really underscore our

    commitment to invest in product and for the future even during these challenging times.

    Ford said the total European car and CV market, including Russia, is expected to grow 20 per cent in the next five years to 23 million vehicles.

    Even with the near-term business environment, Europe presents a significant opportunity for profitable growth, Odell said.

    FORD PUTS ENGINE ROAR BACK INTO REFINED FOCUS ST CABIN Ford sound proofing and engine refine-

    ment specifically minimises noise levels and in-creases comfort in cabin.

    Ford engineers therefore developed a device called a Sound Symposer that amplifies the engine sound and brings it from the engine bay to the inte-rior.

    Fords electronically controlled Sound Symposer for Focus ST delivers a sportier roar, that can be twice as loud under heavy acceleration while re-maining quiet under moderate acceleration.

    For Ford drivers, life in the fast lane has become life in the quiet lane as engineers raise the bar for refinement by cutting noise and improving soundproofing.

    However, for hot hatch drivers, engine roar is an integral part of the driving experience, and Ford engineers have come up with a unique electronically

    controlled solution that delivers a sporty soundtrack or a more peaceful journey, depending on driver inputs.

    The Sound Symposer amplifies the sound produced by the engine and channels it along a pipe to the dashboard panel where it is easily audible to the driver.

    Even racing drivers appreciate refinement on the road, but when the flag drops, a rich engine note like the Focus STs is one of the best noises you can hear, said professional racer Tom Chilton, who drives a Ford Focus EcoBoost in the World Touring Car Championship. Not only is an on-song engine easy on the ear of any performance car fan, but it also delivers valuable information about whats happening under the bonnet and provides an important reference for drivers who need to use all of their senses at the wheel.

    The system developed specially for the new 250 HP 2.0-liter EcoBoost Focus ST triggers an electronically controlled valve to open under heavy acceleration that can as much as double in-cabin volume levels. It remains closed at times when the

    driver is likely to appreciate a more peaceful environment, such as under more moderate acceleration.

    JAGUAR F-TYPE UNVEILED IN PARIS AT THE PARIS AUTO SHOW 2012 The F-TYPE is an all-new, two-seater, Jaguar

    sports car.

    A front-engined, rear-wheel drive convertible, the F-TYPE is engineered to deliver pure dynamic driving reward and stunning performance.

    Visually, the F-TYPE's exterior demonstrates a new sports car design language for Jaguar, with cleaner lines delivered through the discreet use of technology such as deployable spoiler and door handles.

    The F-TYPE's interior features a driver-focused philosophy, with engaging controls encased in dramatic architecture. Unique technical grains tailor the trim materials, further differentiating the dual-cockpit cabin.

    Three models will be available F-TYPE, F-TYPE S and the F-TYPE V8 S. They are powered

    respectively by Jaguar's new 3.0-liter V6 supercharged petrol engine in 340 HP and 380 HP outputs and its 5.0-liter V8 supercharged petrol producing 495 HP.

    The range-topping F-TYPE V8S will reach 100 kph

    in 4.3 seconds and has a top speed up to 300 kph (limited by the electronics). The 380 PH V6 F-TYPE S will reach 100 kph in 4.9 seconds and 275 kph, the equivalent figures for the F-TYPE are 5.3 seconds and 260 kph.

    All engines drive through an eight-speed 'Quickshift' transmission, a centrally mounted SportShift selector offering full manual sequential control, as do the steering wheel-mounted paddles.

    Jaguar Land Rover is recording unprecedentedly high sales figures among its premium class car brands. Since the beginning of 2012 it has sold 269.115 cars around the world, for a number thats 37% higher than the number for the same period of the previous year. Jaguar has sold 41.867 cars, which also exceeds the previous years figures, by 11%. The Jaguar XF sport sedan is particularly in demand among brand aficionados: its sales grew by 19% around the world.

    On the Ukrainian market Jaguar sales grew by 273% for the period from January to September of 2012 compared to the same period of 2011. This proves that the acceleration strategy is sound and that there is a tendency towards increasing demand for this British brands cars in Ukraine.

    Paris was the first major international show appearance for the all-new Range Rover with its

    Land Rovers motor show stand over the two press days featured the complete new Range Rover line-up, with both Vogue and Autobiography versions, and the full powertrain range. This sees the 3.0 TDV6 diesel engine made available in Range Rover for the first time, alongside the 4.4 SDV8 diesel and the 5.0 LR-V8 Supercharged.

    The display also made room for the rare, special edition Range Rover CSK heritage vehicle, a two-door model named in honour of Range Rovers first creator - Charles Spencer King.     VOLVO CAR CORPORATION STILL LEADS AIRBAG DEVELOPMENT AFTER 25 LIFE-SAVING YEARS The first Volvo car equipped with an airbag left the assembly line in 1987 - and since then the company has extended the technology with several world-firsts. Volvo was first with both the seat-mounted side airbag and the Inflatable Curtain (IC) and in 2012 the tech-nology's 25th anniversary was celebrated with the introduction of the groundbreaking pedestrian airbag in the all-new Volvo V40.

    Standard feature The airbag has been a standard feature in all cars for several years, but in the early days both the techno-logy and its reliability created intense debate. At that time, many of these anxieties were justified. "Getting an airbag to deploy is not a challenge, but making it deploy at exactly the right moment is," ex-plains Lennart Johansson, adding: "In recent years, the timing and the performance level of inflation have been in focus. And in modern airbag technology, the inflation level can be adapted to match crash severity."

    The use of sophisticated radar and cameras in recent cars paves the way for the possibility of activating pro-tective safety systems even before the impact if neces-sary.

    Started in the 1950s A look in the rear-view mirror shows that the first airbag solutions emerged back in the early 1950s. However, the technology was far from mature. One 1955 patent describes a system similar to today's, but with the sig-nificant exception that the driver himself had to deploy the bag by pressing a button. Another early debate focused on the use of a pyrotechnic charge to inflate the airbag with gas. A controversial bill in the United States in 1984 speed-ed up the airbag development process. Focusing on the dangers of not using the safety belt, the bill stipulat-ed that within three years new cars must be equipped with protective safety devices that did not have to be activated by the occupants.

    Co-operation with the safety belt The airbag was quickly recognised by many observers as the best solution and some even believed that it even would replace the three-point safety belt that was invented by Volvo Car Corporation back in 1959. However, Volvo successfully argued that the best safe-

    ty result would be achieved by co-operation between the safety belt system and airbag technology.

    World-firsts in side impact protection In the late 1990s, the airbag became standard equip-ment in the Volvo 850.

    Volvo Car Corporation has taken another step on the journey towards autonomous driving self-driving vehicles by demonstrating a new traffic jam assistance system. The new system, whereby the car automatically follows the vehicle in front in slow-moving queues up to 50 kph, will be ready for production in 2014. "This technology makes driving more relaxed in the kind of monotonous queuing that is a less attractive part of daily driving in urban areas. It offers you a safe, effortless drive in slow traffic," says Peter Mertens, Senior Vice President Research and Development of Volvo Car Corporation. The traffic jam assistance function is an evolution of the current Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keeping Aid technology, which was introduced in the all-new Volvo V40 earlier in 2012.

    The driver activates the traffic jam assistance function by pushing a button. When active, the engine, brakes and steering respond automatically. The Adaptive Cruise Control enables safe, comfortable driving by automatically maintaining a set gap to the vehicle in front, at the same time as the steering is also controlled. Aiming for leadership Autonomous driving - with steering, acceleration and/or braking automatically controlled by a vehicle that requires very little human interaction is a major focus area in Volvo Car Corporation's development work.     The new Cayenne Turbo S assumes top position in the Porsche SUV model range with its engine power of 550 HP (405 kW). With its complex active chassis, the top athlete in SUV clothing surpasses the driving performance of many sports cars. All of the basic Cayenne properties such as versatile offroad capabilities, high ride comfort and superior towing power have been preserved without exception. Its NEDC fuel consumption of 11.5 liters per 100 km is the same as that of the Cayenne Turbo, which makes it more fuel-efficient in relation to its engine power. The new Turbo S model has an extra 50 HP of power compared to the Cayenne Turbo, as well as a torque boosted from 700 Nm to 750 Newton meters, and it converts them into faster acceleration and a higher top speed. The sprint from zero to 100 kph takes just 4.5 seconds (-0.2 seconds), and the SUV accelerates to a top speed of 283 kph (+ 5 kph).
