June 2011 Newsletter
Hello Division 1N!
The May flowers are blooming, the sun is shining brighter than
ever and the heat is on which only means one thing. Guess yet?
You know it, it is summer! Although, schools out does not equate
to Key Club out of service, because there is so much to do!
Also, we have a PCM nearing in our hands, June 24th, pin it, check
it, & go to it! Please, it would be greatly appreciated! I will have
more information on the location in the Smiley Face to your right!
Topics to talk about:
- Reporting, job duties and tips!
- Summer fundraising and project building
- Bi-weekly Officer meetings, the who, the
what, and the when
- & finally, goals and ideas for both Division 1N,
as well as the clubs themselves.
Other things to remember: After you get officers elected, Please contact me so we can schedule the installations for
them!
Reply saying “woo” if
you liked this month’s
newsletter, if not, tell me
why, I’m always up for
improvements!
Goals for summer
These upcoming months I have so
many goals for Division 1N. I hope
that together we can reach these
goals & exceed them! The biggest
goal I have though is to have all
officer contact information in my
hands before the first PCM!
Other goals:
- Get all clubs to start
reporting every month
[Remember the old saying,
“better late than never!”
we only had one club
report to Ryan this month,
I really want this to
change!]
- Schedule all the
officers to be inducted
before Summer Board
[I have been talking to a
few advisors and I know a
lot of officers would like to
do this with more people
than just them and their
family but the whole club,
so I just want all the clubs
to have contacted me and
scheduled a time before
July 15]
- Have at least *One*
Divisional Interclub
among all the schools
[If you have any ideas on
this please e-mail me back
on this! I want to have it
sometime in late July/Early
August, but it’s nice to
keeps things in mind and
to have plans beforehand.
Also, remember themes
are fun to have!]
Facebook!
For those Facebook addicts, –shyly raises hand- here’s a great way to get in
contact with new things coming up, from all schools around the area, as well
as different things I will try to hold (etc. Socials, PCMs and have an Interclub
or two)
I will post pictures on here, as well as put up individual events that the
schools will be having, so that way anyone can come to service projects other
schools are doing, and give a helping hand to your neighbor school! I will also
inform of different news I get, and have reminders for things as well!

With summer, many different responsibilities as club
officers come, and to make sure you take advantage of
summer to its fullest extent make sure to:
Start thinking of ways to raise money for
your club/projects!
Bi-weekly officer meetings are the best!
During this time you can prepare and plan
upcoming things for the next year!
Heading out for vacation? That’s fine,
everyone needs a break, but that doesn’t
mean you can’t get on the hotel Wi-Fi and
reply to a few e-mails, maybe hold a
webcam conference with the other officers
(or me!) to talk about meetings/projects
missed!
Keep in contact with me! I check my e-mail
on a regular basis and my phone number is
listed at the end of this newsletter!
Be sure to mail the reports into Ryan Nava
(District Secretary), as well as you send
them electronically to Mrs. Newsham
(Region Advisor), your sponsoring Kiwanis
Club and me, your Lieutenant Governor!
- These are just some things to do if you want to
keep on top of things. Remember as well as rolling
back into the school groove [yes, I said groove, I’m
that old! Ha!] you have to start things back up with
Key Club, and if you already have a plan, that
makes your job a little easier!
K-Kids Builders Club Key Club Circle-K
Kiwanis
AKtion Club
These are the many branches of the
K-Family, While we have a lot of
these branches around our area, we
are missing one little branch. Guess
which yet? The “little” is a clue, and
yes, it’s K-Kids! I hope to start at least
one, if not two in the Division, I don’t
yet know where exactly, but I hope
wherever it is ends up being there is
much done!
Also, a goal of mine is to start having
better K-Family relations, having
more joint projects and socials among
the different K-Family Clubs!
Maria’s Magnificent Page!
This is a new area of the newsletter.
Here I will advertise different service projects that we had
the past month, this month in May there weren’t many
projects, since school was almost out, but there was the
Kiwanis Bike Ride which I was not able to go to due to
family issues.
While I wasn’t able to go, many of the clubs in Division 1N
were! They had a great time setting up for the Kiwanis
members and giving them a drink of water or Gatorade
when they passed by!
Make sure to e-mail me pictures of service projects as well
as a little summary of the project for me to post!
The Month of June:
June is a time of special occasions, from father’s day to
the summer solstice. What I want this month is for
everyone to plan a service projects (just one, if not
more!), and June is such a great opportunity!
With many things going on such as National Drive Safe
Month, as well as National Fresh Fruit and Vegetable
Month, one can get so many ideas for service projects!
For more National June Festivities, As well as
June Festivities according to day and week (also
has month here too!) look at:

yslong.htm
This gives great service project ideas relevant to
the season!
