Finding exactly the right app is easy.• From the Start screen, start typing the name of the app
you’re looking for.• Go to the Apps view to see all of the apps that are installed
on your device.

Get easy access to your favorite apps. • Pin your most-used apps to the Start screen for a customized
experience that keeps your priorities in perfect order.• Press and hold (or right-click) and
app and select Pin to Start.

Seamlessly switch between your open apps.• Return to a previous app or choose from any of your open
apps• Swipe in from the left edge, and with your finger still on the screen, move
it back toward the left edge.• Point to the upper-left corner of the screen and then move the mouse
pointer down.

Make the most of your screen space. • Display up to four apps at a time.• Open the list of apps, and drag an app next to the current app. Continue the
process to add up to four apps (depending on your screen resolution).• Drag the divider to resize an app.• Drag the divider all the way to the right or left to move the app off the
screen.

Close an app to keep it out of sight, out of mind.• Drag the app from the top edge to the bottom
of the screen.• From the list of open apps, right-click the app
you want to close and click Close.

Choose from the modern Start screen or the traditional desktop.• From the Start screen, tap or click the Desktop tile.• To return to the Start screen, tap or click the Start button.

Start screen.• On the Start screen, press and hold (or right-click)
the taskbar.• Choose Properties, and then tap or click the
Navigation tab.• Tap or click Show my desktop background on
Start ,and then Apply.

Access your most important information from the most convenient location.• Pin personal folders to your Start screen for easy access and
customization.• From the desktop, on the taskbar, tap or click
File Explorer.• Press and hold (or right-click) the folder you
want to pin and choose Pin to Start.

Manage files and folders or browse to exactly what you’re looking for.• Access commonly used commands for files and folders.• Copy and paste, move files to new locations, rename files,
create new folders, and more.

Share your files right from the Ribbon.• Quickly email or print files, or you can share files or folders
with specific users.• Tap or click the Share tab to view options for sharing your files.

Go ahead and enjoy the view.• Change the windows layout to fit your preferences. Open the
preview pane to quickly see your files before you open them.• Tap or click the View tab.• Choose from layout, sorting, and hiding options.

Search for specific files right from File Explorer. • Start typing the file name in the search box to see instant
results.• Use the search results and the Preview pane to quickly sort
through your files to find the one that you need.

Never lose your work again.• Enable File History to automatically back up your work as
often as you specify.• Access backed-up versions of your files if you want to revert
to an older copy.• Open the charms and select the Search charm.• In the Search box, enter
“File History” and select it from the results.
• Choose File History Settings.• Set your File History
preferences.
