2015 Grand Annual 2015 Grand Annual a success!
Thank you to the many families that have already pledged their support to the 2015 Grand Annual Appeal. We are
grateful for your generosity! A special follow-up letter has been mailed to all registered
households that have not yet participated in the Grand Annual. We ask that you please read Fr. Rick’s letter and prayerfully consider a gift to the Grand Annual this week. As Fr. Rick reminded us in his Grand Annual letter, the
wonderful work that we do together as a parish is expensive. Our Grand Annual provides the extra financial assistance we need to bridge the gap between our expenses and the income from the weekly offertory and the monthly
collections. We truly appreciate any assistance you can give and are
counting on the many, who are able, to support this appeal.
Thank you for your support.

Taize Prayer
St. Mary’s Parishioners are invited to join with the Boston Chapter of the
National Association of Pastoral Musicians on Sunday evening,
November 22, at 7:30 for a Taize Prayer. This is a contemplative service
in the manner of the Community of Taize in France . We feel honored to
host this event which is extremely timely given the recent terrorist attacks
in Paris. Consider setting aside 45 minutes this Sunday evening, to gather in meditative singing, prayer, and silent contemplation for our fractured world.
Please accept the sincere gratitude of the Pro-Life Ministry for your support of their efforts to help the fine work of “Heartbeat,” a non-profit, free and confidential pregnancy help center in Burlington. Due to your generosity we were able to raise over $400 with the sale of hand-made angel ornaments ( left) and Christmas decorations. Many thanks to Maria Thomann for her salesmanship and craftsmanship. You can obtain these items for a suggested donation of $5 to $10 by contacting Maria at 781-721-4510.

song of your choice. Please bring the accompanying sheet music. Whether you want to
watch the show or perform in it, Winton Cabaret is a great tradition and enormous fun. PLEASE JOIN

Little Blue Book
Each 24-hour day has 1,440 minutes. You
are asked to give 6 of those 1,440
minutes to pray for the next 43 days. You
can give more than 6 minutes if you wish.
But the main thing is to pray every day.
The Little Blue Book will be your
companion.
On the first Sunday of Advent, we
begin our program of ‘six minutes a
day.’’
Please find the Little Blue Book at the
back of the Church.

Festival Children’s
Choir
It’s that time of year again to begin rehearsals for the Festival Christmas Children’s Choir on Sunday, November 29.
Children ages 8-12 are invited to join this annual St. Mary’s tradition. The children sing at the 4:00 Mass on Christmas Eve
which is preceded by a short concert program. There are four rehearsals scheduled from 6:00-6:55 on the
following Sunday evenings: November 29, December 6, and December 13, and one Wednesday rehearsal on December 23.
The first rehearsal will take place in St. Mary’s School hall due to a concert in the Church. All remaining rehearsals will
occur in St. Mary’s Church. Last year’s choir numbered over 50 children helping to usher in this joyful season. Encourage your child to become a part
of this tradition and bring more meaning to your family’s Christmas as you celebrate the true meaning behind the
holiday through the gift of song.

PARISH AND COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES AND MINISTRIES
November 22 – The Solemnity Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe
Pilate said to Jesus, "Are you the King of the Jews?" Perhaps the question we need to ask today is, “Is Jesus my King? Do I live with Jesus at the center of my life? What is
the ‘checklist’ that will help answer the question? Daily prayer? Frequent confession? Reception of Holy
Communion? Helping others come to know Him better?
God’s Word: “It is a holy and wholesome thought to pray for the dead that they may be freed from their sins” Maccabees 12:46
Reflection: How easy and human it is to forget with the passing of time those you loved so dearly while they lived! Let us pray for them often in gratitude for their kindnesses to us and the good example they gave us in times past.
Prayer: Come to our aid, O God, and help us to pray faithfully for our dear dead. By Your grace, enable us to honor their memory by a good Christian life so that we may one day happily join them in Your holy presence. Amen.

Immaculate Conception Novena Novena Dates: November 29—December 7
(Feast Day: December 8)
Immaculate Virgin Mary, Mother of Our Lord Jesus, an our Mother! Filled with the most lively confidence in your all-powerful and never-failing intercession, I, your loving and trusting child, implore you to obtain for me the favor I earnestly ask, if it is beneficial to my immortal soul and the souls for whom I pray: (mention your request). Obtain for me a deep hatred of sin and that purity of heart which will unite me to God alone, so that my every thought, word and deed may tend to His greater glory. Amen. (Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be.)

Today’s celebration was established in the midst of the turmoil of the early twentieth century, to remind the world that it is Jesus Christ to whom we owe our ultimate allegiance. Our world continues to be in turmoil, as any glance at the news headlines will confirm. Now more than ever, we need to acknowledge Jesus Christ as the Lord and King of our hearts and lives. Today’s Gospel ends just before Pilate asks Jesus another question: “What is truth?” The world asks us the same question: What is truth?
