Our Thanksgiving Mass and Graduation Ceremony this week were truly most reflective and wonderful occasions. We thank and farewell our staff who take up new po- sitions in 2018. Teachers – Miss Christine Ly, Mrs Kate Purdham, Learning Support Offic- ers – Mrs Kerri McFarland and Mr Chris Harriss. We also wish Mrs Clare Tiley and Mrs Emma Sofra every blessing as each awaits the birth of their first child. Some Important beginning 2018 Dates Term 1 Mon 29 January: School Closure Day—Staff Resume (no students) Tues 30 January: School Closure day – Staff Professional Learning (no students) Wed 31 January: Students Grades 1-6 begin 8:45am Thurs 1 February: Prep students begin 8:45am. Frieda will work Fridays. Mrs Kate Purdam has been appointed to the Catholic Education Office as the Learning Advisor for the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data for Students with Disability. We congratulate Kate and thank her for her passion and ability to lead the Student Services Portfolio within our school. I am happy to announce that Mrs Paula Fernon will take on the role next year. Paula has been a Student Services Leader and Deputy Principal at St Louis de Montfords in Aspendale. Thank you and Happy Holidays The staff at St John Vianney’s wish all parents, students and family members a very happy, holy and fun-filled Christmas and blessings for the New Year!
