I am an energetic, determined event manager.

As an event manager, my clients can tell me their ideas about their events and I will take charge of making sure all elements are in place.

My career is just beginning

Like most people, it took a long time to find my path.

I thought I wanted to work in the medical field

Eight years ago, I started working as a medical assistant. In those eight years, I attempted to start radiography school and nursing school. I failed to complete either one of them.

I just didn't belong there

I started to feel like the medical field was just not for me anymore. I was dreading coming into work because I felt like I was the only person who had no direction.

In my sixth year, I found my interest.

By the time I had been in medical assisting for six years, I started to hone in on my real interest when someone challenged me to “do what I love.”

I like to plan events

From Christmas parties, to birthdays to business meetings, I like to plan. I like to be given a date and a list of “must haves” or the freedom to ad-lib where I can in order to bring and event together.

My main focus is coordinating entertainmen

I thoroughly enjoy planning events that are meant for people to come together and have a good time.

I have coordinated some large events already

I have had a lot of practice with event management so far. In the medical office I work for, I coordinate all office meetings, the annual company picnic and Christmas party. We have over 75 employees along with their families who attend these events. Two years ago, I also managed a neighborhood wide Easter Event where we held an egg hunt, crafts, and a cookout for 35 children and 22 adults.

As a Full Sail student, I am studying Entertainment Business Management. I am in my third year and fully planning to obtain my Master’s degree so that I can become a professional at doing what I love.

Excellent customer service skills

My customer service skills will help me in my career. I will use everything I have learned in my experience with expedited decision making, conflict resolution, meeting deadlines and effective communication to advance my career.

I have a dream job

I don’t mind spending the time it takes to pull an event together because my reward comes when the event is a success.

Being an Event Manager is a success to me. Being in charge of making an event come to life is inspiring and some day, I will be able to say it is truly what I do for a living.
